Hey guys, it's [Ab] Mike's lesson and today I'm going to be teaching you a theme
of Kermit the Frog by Conjuring Overdrive.
And as you know, it's a pretty easy song, it's a beginner song definitely.
12 power chords, except for the lead lick and the solo.
I'll be teaching you the whole song in two different parts.
[Bb] This is part one.
So let's just jump right in.
Okay, the effects we're going to be using are
I'm in middle position, I'm going to pick up selector here, I'm going to Stratocaster,
Thunder.
It's an [C] F10 made, and it sounds kind of like this.
[Bbm]
[F] [Cm] [C]
[Bb] Alright, so I'm going to put it in middle position.
Your tone is going to be on 8, right here the middle tone, and this one is going to
be on 9.
And it'll [C] sound like this.
[Bb] Alright, so, this is standard tuning.
And the effects we're going to be using, [Db] we're going to be using a little bit of chorus effect,
a tiny bit, just to give it a little extra punch.
Some overdrive, a [Bb] lot of it, but some low gain, and some reverb.
Just like an echo, kind of like a simulation of what it would be like if we were playing
at a hall or something.
It's going to [Cm] be right there.
You hear kind of like the echo.
[D]
[Bb] [C]
[Bb] So, let's start out.
We're going to take our first finger and put it on [C] the E fret
[Bb] of the fretboard.
And we're going to barre the first [C] E string and the A string at the E fret.
It'll sound [Bb] like that.
Alright, so what we're going to do is we're going to go, [Fm]
[C] [Bb] we're going to hit it once with
the down [F] strum, [E] or hit those two, those two [F] strings, E and [Bb] A.
And then we're going to put our, right here, the ring finger on the 8th fret, or the 10th fret,
I'm sorry, of the A string.
[G] Like that.
[Bb]
And then we're going to take our pinky and put it on the 12th fret of the A string.
And then we're going to hit a down strum of those [G] two.
And [Bb] then we're going to go back to the regular power chord on the C, which is the second
chord of our [Cm] projection.
[Eb] We're going to hit that twice.
Alright, now we're going to move everything down [Bb] two frets, which is one whole fret.
So [Cm] we're going to move it down.
[F] [Bb]
[F]
[C] [Bbm]
And we're going to do the same thing we did for the C power chord, [Bb] only on the [F] B flat power chord.
[Bb] We're going to do the two on the 6th fret, and we're going to do it again.
[F] [Bbm] [Bb] We're going to go back to the 8th fret, but we're going to borrow the D and the A instead
of the E and the A.
And then we're going to do the same thing, but one fret higher.
[F]
And we're going to go back to the first power chord.
[C]
[F]
[C]
[Bbm]
[F]
[C] [Cm]
[Bb] Alright, that's the first part of part one.
That's the first section.
This is the intro, and the [E] verses, basically.
So let's jump into the bridge.
Alright, hey guys, I'm [Ab] back.
This is the second part of taking care of business lesson, and I'm going to be teaching the bridge now.
And it's actually a really easy pattern, and all it is is this.
[Bbm]
[Eb] Or [C] actually, up one fret.
[F]
[Bb] [F]
[Eb] [Bbm]
So [A] basically it goes in a square [Ab] of power chords.
It goes from [C] the C power chord to the F power [F] chord.
[D] [Ebm]
[Bb] [Ab] To the E power chord, [Eb] or actually to the E flat power chord.
Back to the B flat [Bbm] power chord.
[C] And then back to the C.
[F] It basically just sits there.
[Eb] [Bb] [F]
[Bb] [C]
[Ab] And every first [C] power chord in the bridge is two down-strums.
And [Db] then the [F] second is three.
[D] One in the middle, the second strum is an [F] up-strum.
[Bb]
Alright, that's the bridge [Db] of the song.
It's pretty easy, and you can do it in major chords [C] too.
[F]
[Bb] [F] [Eb]
[E]
[F] [Cm]
[F] [C]
[Cm] [Gb] [F]
[C]
[Bb] So that's basically the whole lesson.
It's pretty easy.
[Db] So I'll be coming out with part two next.
[B] I'll see you soon, guys.
Remember to subscribe, comment any questions, and have [Bb] fun playing.
