Is this [Gb] the first time you guys have played New York?
This [N] is the third, no [Am] fourth show we've played in New [Gb] York.
But this trip is the first?
Yeah, this trip is the first time we've played [Ab] here.
How's it been compared to the [Bb] Australian shows?
[C]
Not too different.
Well, completely [Db] different.
Except for [A] when there are Australians in the crowd.
[G] [A]
[C] [D]
[Bb]
[Gm] So you guys have been out here, [E] has there been any [E]
weird, crazy show of fan affection from [G] anyone?
Not for us, but we were just on tour with [N] MGMT and they have like fully massive, kind
of like, I wanna have your babies Andrew style.
[A] It's like MGMT mania. Yeah.
[B]
And we witnessed it first [Gb] hand.
Yeah, we love being the [Ab] support man.
We love like, [Ebm] [Bb]
[F] it's more uncomfortable [Gb] when it's your headline [Ab] show, it's your own show
[Eb] and people come to see you.
We much prefer people come to see like some other [N] bands, bigger bands.
We can just play and then get drunk and have a fun night.
So it's good, yeah.
It's awesome.
Do you guys like touring?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
There [Gb]
are two ways of making music.
[Bb] One is in the studio where you can have your own time and space and everything [C] and you
can do whatever you want.
And [Am] then there's the live [G] thing, there's the touring, which is you're completely [E]
vulnerable
and out of your elements [Eb] and out of your comfort zone.
And [E] that side is [Ab] all about trying to make yourself [G] as comfortable as possible in really
[F] sometimes harsh conditions.
Yeah, if the [E] sound is not good at the venue [Ab] or you're tired or you're a little bit drunk
or whatever the variables are, [A]
it can be a shit [E] show.
Whereas in the studio, you can just work on it and work on it and get perfect sound.
[Bb] So like we like the security of recording.
[Gb] So touring is pretty intense for us.
Yeah, it's like, it's [Am] a totally new experience for us around every [C] corner.
Yeah.
[D] Being in New York and [N] LA and whatever.
You seem [Dm] really excited about it.
Yeah, it's really, [A] it's really weird, man.
From [E] other people's point of view, it's [F] like they see a band and they [Bb] roll into town and
they're in a new town and it's like, they [Bb] play a show and it's like, seems really awesome and everything.
But [E] like, I challenge those people to be [C] in a van for two weeks touring across the whole
country with nine other people and playing shows every night.
[N]
I don't know.
We still only have those in Australia.
[D]
[Bm] We first got here, we were like, oh my God, we're in [A] America.
Dude, we're in [Eb] America.
And it was like, that was [C] the first day.
And the second day we were like, dude, we're [F] in America.
That's awesome.
[Gb] Third day we were like, we're in [Gm] America.
And the fourth [C] day it was like, yeah.
[Cm]
America.
We've been here for two weeks now.
[Gb] Roll into New York just like [A] tired and hungover like, [Eb] oh, Empire [Bm] State Building.
