So what are you gonna do?
Fire away.
Do you want me to say you?
Yeah.
You do?
Yeah I'll do one.
Go ahead.
Alright, gotcha.
This is Derek Trucks.
Nice.
You know me?
I'm not.
I'm Susan Tedeschi.
That's all you.
You gotta say Derek Trucks.
They know who [D] you are.
I'll talk this time.
Go ahead.
You will?
Alright, I'm Derek Trucks.
I'm Susan [F] Tedeschi.

[D] I wanted to do a project with Susan and I wanted to make it just a big festive group.
We've been talking about it for years and just the opportunity has never really come around.
This year just seemed like the right time that we could finally write some music and put a band together.
There's
[D] so much potential energy with this lineup.
They're just really trying to showcase that
and trying to not just have great players around because it's fun to have great players around but to actually utilize it.
Everybody included in this band, not just Derek and I, we're all trying to do the best we can for the music, for the song, for the moment.
It's a nice flow and energy.
Right, it's like the whole family is focused to achieving one goal.
Right.
Great music.
[Dm]
It's the real deal.
The whole band are a bunch of geniuses, great musicians, [C] playing with love and great soul and great instincts.
[D] That has made my job so fun [F] and really easy.
[Em]
[D] Sue is so respected as a singer.
Susan, show me a better singer.
She delivers, man, every time.
She always means it.
And as a great guitar player.
She sounds like a 4,000 year old black dude when she plays guitar.
[G] Derek, the depth of his experience gives him so many tools and [D] so many licks.
His sound, it just comes right out of his fingers.
If there was only one amp in the world and [Em] one guitar in the world, he would [Bm] still sound the same and sound [D] amazing.
He's just [F] flawless as a [Em] guitar player.
He really [D] is.
He can reinvent himself a billion [Bb] different ways.
You never know [Am] what's going [F] to come out and it's always exciting.
Derek and Susan's [G] talents really complement each other.
It's a nice [A] marriage of the two worlds.
[Bb] [F]

[Bb]
[C] [D]
If it was just an instrumental group, it would be amazing.
[G] But everybody in the band understands that the focus of the band is to hold up what Susan does and allow her to do what she does as great as she can.
She has such an amazing voice.
It's hard for the music to live up to that.
With this group, the track is amazing.
What she's singing is so over-the-top amazing.
It's pretty exciting to be a part of.
That was the most exciting thing to me.
Just watching her serve it up with a room full of experts and professionals.
She just did not back down.
And [B] playing guitar at the same time.
[Dbm] [Abm]

[E] [D]
[A]
[E] Just watching Derek deal with every new album.
And the producer situation.
Watching the producer.
He has grown so much.
[Dbm] It's an honor and a pleasure to work with Derek.
[Gb] He's very calm.
[E] He can make a decision.
He's [Am] got great ears.
He's got [Dbm] great pitch.
[Ebm] He knows if there's another [Bb] better one to be had.
He knows if the [Dbm] good one has already been played.
[E] Actually, being in a [Gbm] relationship with Derek has really helped this project for me.
[B] Because I really trust him a lot.
[E] And I feel like if he has something important to say, or if he thinks I should try something [Dm] differently, then I'm more open to do it.
If it was somebody else, I might not.
I might feel a little more stubborn.
I'm gonna learn how to [D] love you.
I'm gonna show you love now.
[G] Gonna [F] love you.
[D] Tell [Gm] you [F] how.
[D] [F]
[D] Show [G] you love.
[F]
[D] If I could make a deal, I would always do records like this.
Because [G] it's good for your heart.
It really is all about the music.
And it really is all about [Dm] love.
You gotta keep that fire lit.
You gotta keep challenging yourself.
The band does that.
Susan does that.
Jim does it.
The whole process does it.
I think this band is amazing.
And just has so much potential to [Am] really [Dm] excite people and music [D] again.
[G] People want to feel.
People want to be moved by music.
It's a very real thing to have music that inspires you and moves you.
And I [Gbm] think this band can [Eb] do it.
