[A] So we begin with section A in Darkness Descends and we're starting at the root note A, 7th
fret on the 4th string.
Then playing to the open 2nd string and back.
[Bm]
We're then going
to play the E note, fret 5 on string 2, back to the root note again and then to the 6th
fret on string 2.
[E] [A]
[F]
To finish this line then we're going to be playing frets 5 and 6 on
the 2nd string and [E] back to the 5th.
[F]
[E]
[A] So the line will sound like this.
[Bm] [A] [F]
[A] [F] [A]
There's really
not much difference in the 2nd line here, that's bars 5 to 8.
We've got a couple of
different notes happening so everything starts the same.
[Bm] [A]
But we're going to vary it up [G] in
the 6th bar with fret 8 on the 2nd string.
Descend then back to the 6th [Em] and 5th fret
[F] on the same string [E] and then 5th fret on string [C] 3.
So it's really just a bit of a variation
[A] on the ending.
So these 4 bars sound like this.
[D] [A]
[C] [F] [Am]
[N] [A] So for the next 4 bars we've got a little
bit of a different thing happening to begin with.
We're going to do fret 5 on the 2nd
string with the root note, then fret 6 on the 2nd [F] string, back to the root note, 5th
fret [Am] 2nd string and then we're going to descend on string 1 with frets 8, 7 and the open string.
[Em]
[A] So these 4 bars will sound like this.
[F]
[Am]
In the last 4 bars of section A we begin like we
did just previously in those last 4 bars.
So the root note [Abm] again, 5th fret on 2nd string
[A] and back, fret 6 again on [Eb] the 2nd [F] string, back to fret [A] 5 and this time fret 7 on the
[D] 3rd string.
So now we get [A] this.
[F] [Am] [D]
And to end with [C] we're basically utilising an A minor
triad.
So 5th fret on 3rd and 2nd string, root note, fret 7 on [A] 4th string.
