Hey [D] guys, thanks for watching week 36 of [N] Solo A Week with Elliot Easton's classic power
pop solo from The Cars Is Just What I Needed, along with Jessie's Girl, which you can watch right here.
I did a while back.
This is one of my favorite pop guitar solos of all time.
I really love that it uses a couple tones that you don't usually hear in pentatonic
box structure type solos.
Does some nice double stops at the end that are pretty reminiscent of the solo that actually
came a year before that off Cheap Tricks, I Want You To Want Me, which also uses a similar
double stop thing along at the end of the solo.
So I've always found that kind of interesting.
As always, I'm using my Fractal Audio AXX2 for all the tones here.
You can get the tone on the Fractal Audio forum.
I'm going to post the patch.
And here comes the lesson on how to play this [C#] solo. _ _
