Tonight the show is supposed to be from the Gavin Radio Convention in New Orleans.
Well, due to a technical screw-up, that's not possible.
And the folks here at One20 would like to apologise to all of the bands and clubs who took part,
and especially the Gavin Report for all there. _
So here we are, a week earlier than planned, with a great collection of videos for you,
including an MTV premiere from R.E.M. and brand new ones from the Flaming Lips.
_ Poster Children, Max Keating and Wax.
This band Wax, their new video, is called California.
It was directed by Spike Jonze, and what they did for this was
he stretched 12 seconds of film over 2 minutes of music.
So here we go, it's Wax.
_ _ _ That was Belly with the first video from their second album, King,
and it was called Now They'll Sleep, here at One20 Minutes.
We're the Cranberries and we're guest hosting tonight.
At the top of the hour we'll have an MTV premiere from R.E..M. but right here it's a video of our 93rd debut album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, so why can't we? It's called Dreams. And the song was written about five years ago, it's a song about the joys of first love, or so I thought it was at the time. Probably was, but eh. _ _ _ [Bbm] _ _ _ [G] Do you have to [D] let it linger? _ _ Well that [E] was Linger, and that was the first song we wrote together as a band, believe it or not, five years ago. The song was written about a kind of a little fling, when I was about 17 and a half, 17 kind of thing, and it apparently got fairly notorious. We made the video in Los Angeles, it was the first time we came over to the US as a band, and it was kind of then that we kind of were noticed, our initial _ theme I suppose. We're the Cranberries and we're guest hosting 120 Minutes tonight. At the top of the hour we'll have an MTV premiere of a new R.E.M. video, but first it's a brand new one from a band out of Champagne, Illinois called Poster Children. Their fourth album is called Junior Citizen, and the artwork that you see on the cover, well there's a lot of animation you see in the video, was [F] created by the band's bass player, Rose Marshack. Here it is, Poster Children, running their own satellite TV network, and their own new video, Junior Citizen. _ _ _ [Em] _ _ _ _ _ [C] _ _ _

_ _ _ _ _ I think the video depicts the story very well, it's probably one of the videos we're most proud of, isn't it? _ _ Sam Bear, he's an American chap, he was really, really cool, he really just got the vibe with it. He went to Belfast, and that's actually life in Belfast, those shots, that footage is not pretense, it's actually reality. It's pretty sad, but the topic of the song came about because of the war that was going on between the North of Ireland and the British Army and stuff. _ [F] A little baby boy was blown to pieces, and that's what inspired the song, but you know, it's like there's this peace treaty in Ireland at the moment, so it's supposed to be cleared up and whatnot, you know. [Bb] _ Anyway, we're the Cranberries, and we're guest hosting 120 Minutes tonight. Right now, we're just 20 minutes away from the R.E.M. premiere of Star 69. Right _ now, it's a brand new video from Oklahoma City band The Flaming Lips. 120 Minutes got a video for this song way back in July of 93, before they got the video you've all seen, She Don't Use Jelly. Now The Lips have made a second video for the first single, [D] and here it is, it's from their 6,000 transmissions from the satellite heart, and it's called Turn It On. _ _ _ _ [N] We're here, this guest host for the second 60 of MTV's 120 Minutes. In the next hour, we've got alternative music videos from Matt Keating, Betty Saver, Peeja Harvey. Sordid humour, bad religion, Suzy and the Vanchies, face-to-face, X-Minute men, and the Fargo's bassist Mike Watt, and lots more. We're going to kick things off as promised with an MTV premiere from R.E.M. This is the third video off their ninth album, Monster, and it's called Star 69. My star. That's Victoria Williams with You Are Loved. Here on 120 Minutes, we're the Cranberries, and we're guest hosting tonight. That song and video features guest appearances by Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Jay Mascis of Dinosaur Junior, Dave Grohl of Nirvana, and Chris and Kirkwood of the Meat Puppets. We've got bad [Ab] religion's latest coming up, along with Suzy and the Vanchies, and the San Francisco Bay Area band Sordid Humour. We're the Cranberries, and we're guest hosting 120 Minutes tonight. Next up is PJ Harvey, whose third album, [D] To Bring You My Love, which sounds kind of different for her, hits stores on Tuesday. This is the first video off that album, and it's called Down By The Water. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Welcome back to [G] 120 Minutes. We're the Cranberries, and we're guest [Bb] hosting tonight. _ Next up is the brand new video from Suzy and the Vanchies, who released their first album in four years. It's called Rapture, and it was produced by John Cale of the legendary Velvet Underground. Here's the first video off the
