[D] I wrote this song with, Far From Home, [C] with Ted [G] Templeman and [Dm] PJ Hines.
This was a couple of years [C] ago, he sent me a CD of this tune he was [A] working on.
I heard this one thing, I heard the changes and it really connected with me somehow.
[Dm] I asked him, [D] can I maybe [C] borrow these [G] changes and try to write a song around them.
I took them home and [D] I made a little demo of some [G] ideas that I had.
[C] I played it for [Am] Ted Templeman and he listened to [D] it and said, wow, I really like [E] that.
[Gm] Have you got a song?
I said, no, I don't really have a song yet.
[G] Just some ideas that [D] I've come up with.
He said, well, I'd love to help [C] you write a song.
I hear something right off the top of my head, I've got some ideas.
[Gm] We [C] sat around and kicked around some ideas.
We actually started [D] talking about our [C] families.
[Bb] I was telling him about my kids going away to college.
[G] I think also [Dm] for Pat it's a personal thing because he really has gotten into this tune.
I think he's speaking from here for [Am] him, I believe that.
He's speaking about his own personal [Bb] experiences with his kids.
[C] [Dm] That's what sold me the great deal to him and it comes across in the tune.
[E] Ted said, well, I have these lyrics that [D] I've been thinking about.
[C] Since we [G] talked, [E] what do you think of these [Am] lyrics?
He said, when [A] the rain begins to fall, just remember that you'll never be [D] that far from home.
That's how we wrote the song, [C] She's Leaving Home, kind of an idea.
We finally [D] ended up with a song, Far From Home.
Trying to play it so that it [Am] comes across that [F] we're supporting it because [C] we all have kids.
I think [Am] it [C] works in a lot of levels.
It's kind of about our families, but it's about a lot of families and contemporary in [Am] that respect.
I think [D] everybody can relate to [C] love when it's going away from home for the first time.
I'm not sure this song.
