Jam Along & Learn...
Hi, it's Diddy of the Gypsy Queens and we just recorded our album at Rack Studios in London.
We have Jason King who plays contrabass, Jason Metcalf who plays saxophone, [Am] Anders who's been on keyboards and piano.
Manuel will be playing [D] percussion and I play [C] guitar, one of us will [B] sing.
It's very hard to put our live performance in any form [Em] of box, whether [B] it's a CD or a [Em] DVD.
I think this album is moving away from trying to [Am] replicate the Gypsy Queens live performance into an album.
This is [D] the Gypsy Queens new [C] steps into music, which is [B] we're recording an album with amazing musicians, we're hoping to do it right.
And it's not going to sound like an acoustic album anymore only.
[Em] The biggest challenge so far was the coherent repertoire [D] because we wanted to introduce originals to the album.
So they had to [G] kind of match what [C] else we were going to do [B] as covers.
And I think so far it's sounding like it [B] might all melt together pretty well.

[E] [Am] Out of coincidence I met [E] Ben Taylor [F] here, he was recording an album at the same [E] time as [Am] us.
Ben [G] recorded Almost Like Being In [Am] Love today.
So we have that and then we have [G] our dear friend [F] Heidi Wassenrath, who [E] I met a few [Am] weeks ago in fact.
[D] And over the last week we decided [Em] to
[G] record [C] together.
[G] So she accepted to do [C] Parale, which is similar to [E] Almost Like Being In Love [Am] worldwide and arrangement [E] wise and to Mi Mundo.
[Am] And she did an amazing [E] job, in fact I don't think she was working, [Am] I think she was throwing all her passion [E] into the microphone.
And it shows [Am] in her vocals.
How did I get involved in this?
[D] I don't know actually.
[Dm]
[E] [Am] I met Diddy [Dm]
[E] a little while ago [Am] and [G] Diddy was like, I'm recording an [C] album, do you want to be a part of it?
And I was like [E] yeah that sounds like fun.
[Am] And then [G] you suggested this [F] song to me, emailed it [E] to me, I thought wow this [Am] is actually a really cool [G] song, a really great idea.
[F] So [E] here we are,
[Am] a week later.
[G] Yeah, realistically
[F] a week later.
[E]
[G] [C]
[G]
[E] [Am] Yes, it has two possible titles.
[Am] One comes again from [E] our direct [Am] show, live show, which is what we've been doing in the streets and in [E] restaurants and wherever else it comes from.
Which [Am] is The Gypsy Queens and We Love You, which is what we always say.
[E] We are The Gypsy Queens and We Love You, every performance, [Am] in fact every song.
And I shout it out as, you know, [E] because you think you're a cute girl.
[Am] But I think, [E] as a bit of a [Am] funny joke in it, it might end up being [E] lost in the music.
Because it makes a lot more sense.
Because the album has a bossa [E] nova, two pop tracks, one dance [Am] track, a few covers.
[E] And we [Am] really are lost into all this music, which
[E] we sometimes [Am] thought might have been our job.
And we quickly realized it was our passion.
[E] And your passion drives you, [Am] you don't drive your passion.
So we're lost in the music, in the song.
