Hey Paul Davids.
Hey Mary Spender.
How are you doing?
I'm starstruck.
Light is beautiful.
Hi, my name is Mary Spender and you are watching Truth Day Talks
and in this week's episode I visit Europe's largest music store.
This wasn't my first time at [F#m] Thomann and this was the second Gearhead University [G] that I've been to.
I was very, very happy to [Bm] be invited back.
But in this video I [B] wanted to show you what it was like to have free reign of [F#m] this music store
and [D] all the things I got up to.
[F#] I'm upstairs in the custom guitar room [D#] and I will show you around
because some people are filming up here [D] too.
[A] [B]
That's a nice bass.
Harley Benton.
They're [D] incredible.
It's heavy, it plays good, it sounds good.
[N] I mean, I wish Harley Benton had been a brand when I was young
because I could begin on something like that.
Look how cool that is.
Basically, Thomann have done a [A] great job with Harley Benton.
That's what we can agree on, right? Oh, [G] absolutely.
[F#m] Last year I was [F#] totally overwhelmed [A] by how many musical instruments there were [F#m] in this shop.
[G#m] So this year [A] I made it my mission to go around and [F#m] really spend time [G#m] in all the different departments.
This store doesn't just have guitars.
[Em] [E] [A]
Such a great sound.
[C] [Bm] I love the
[C#] Don't you think my life would be improved if I actually played the tenor horn or French horn?
There are so many in this room.
[E] It's a whole different world.
[Em] [C] There are pianos [A#] everywhere.
[B] [Bm]
[E] [Em] [G#]
[E]
[F#] [G]
The marimba is one of my favourite orchestral instruments.
It's so stunning.
Although I can't actually play.
[Cm]
[G] There [A] really is something for every musician.
[F#m] These [E] violins look pretty pricey.
I think
[D]
That's not locked.
I [D] thought that was going to be locked.
And then look at all these instruments too.
It's been a while since I practised the viola, but it is a bit sad to have to sing the parts that I used to be able to play.
[G] What's Walton viola concerto?
That's it.
That's it.
That's how it goes.
[A] We could make videos wherever we wanted and it [E] was really, really inspiring seeing [F#m] other creators at [C] work.
Bassists talking about [A]
bass in a room full of bassists.
I particularly liked the studio [F#m] area.
I am walking into a [A] studio session that I have no idea [F#m] what's going to happen in.
So [G#m] I'm going to grab a guitar and [A] then take it to the studio.
And then possibly [F#m] record one of my own songs [A] with some people you might recognise.
[F#m] [E]
[D] It was so fun.
[A]
[Bm] The most important part of this event, although [E] you know I love [A] gear,
is really the sense of [F#] community that Toman has helped [B] create.
We are all independent musicians working on [D] videos all around the world.
We all have completely different processes.
And yet we can come together and have the most fun whilst working.
[B] And really just find some common ground.
So thanks Toman.
I'm going to start [C#] filming you without your permission.
Is that alright?
Have you had a good time?
I've had an amazing time.
It's been loads of fun.
I'm done.
It's been so good I'm done.
What, you're tired?
[G#] Or you're just done?
No, I [Dm] think it's been
Having everyone here has just been so cool.
[Gm] And everyone's been really excited.
[A] And everyone's gone
That's big content.
Content!
Wait, we're going the wrong way.
We're going the wrong way.
[D] I'm looking at this little screen right here instead of where you're going.
It's The Hang.
[F#m] Oh yeah.
[G#m] Everyone here is [A] a respecter of The Hang.
I've been all about The [F#m] Hang.
Look who I've been hanging [G#m] out with.
It's a good hang.
[A] It's a great hang.
It's an amazing hang.
You sounded [F#m] amazing last night.
[G#m] It was great.
[A] Thank you very much.
Yeah, that's the first time I've [F#m] ever gotten to really see you [E] play and sing.
And it was just great.
There's loads of [B] ducks here.
[D] Moorhens or something?
Oh, maybe they're moorhens.
Oh yeah.
Yeah, sorry.
My eyesight is getting [B] worse.
This is the walk up to dinner every day.
[G#] [E] How?
Hiya.
Oh my god, are you guys getting a lift?
How did [F#m] you do that?
I don't know.
I would help you, but instead I will film you struggle.
[E] Hello.
[A] Pretend to open.
Don't get out.
[F#m] I'm going to try to emerge from this [F#] thing.
[A] Dignified.
Whoa.
That's how a Canadian is [F#m] born.
[G#m] The [A] ice creams in this [F#m] cafeteria have changed my life.
[G#] This ice [A] cream, best [F#m] discovery.
Better than [E] any of the guitars I've discovered here.
I was joking about the ice cream.
Kind of.
[D] You're up there for a fat one?
Nick!
[C#] [B] Yay, hi.
Come [A] on.
[Bm] I'm just like, [D] fall and die.
[Bm] Now it can't move anymore.
Okay.
So it should [B] be safe.
[A] Okay, it should be safe.
Yeah.
Thanks [B] for saying that.
I am terrified of heights.
It's [B] definitely a fear of mine and yeah, [D] I'm

I just want to say a massive [D] thank you.

[A] I also want to announce [F#m] Tuesday Talks the podcast.
I finally created it.
I finally [B] challenged myself [A] to, alongside these videos, upload a fresh [D] new [F#m] podcast every week.
[G#m] So I really hope you enjoyed [A] this video.
If you haven't already, please subscribe, [F#m] give this video a thumbs up [F#] and I will see you next week.
