Alright, as you [G] know we've talked about lots of different [A] types of records on this channel.
Everything from 16 and 2 3rd RPM [F#] records to 33s, 45s, 78s, [G] Edison Diamond Discs,
Shellac records, vinyl records, and [Em] tons of other stuff.
[B] But in this video, [Em] I'm going to show you a very special [E] and weird record from McDonald's,
[G] and it could win us a million dollars.
[Am] [Dm] [F]
[Am] [Dm] [G] Hey friends, welcome to VinylEyes.
I'm Jarrett [A] New,
and today we're going to talk about the million [Bm] dollar McDonald's record.
[G] Now, the story behind [G#] this record is that in 1988 [E] through 1989,
[G] McDonald's had a promotional contest where they distributed,
through [Em] various advertisements and [G] newspapers, 80 [Em] million of these Flexi Disc [E] records.
And the [G] idea is pretty simple.
The record is a little jingle which [E] advertises different [G] items on their McDonald's menu.
And there's two main characters, [A] a teacher and a [G] class.
The teacher is trying to teach the class the special [Em] McDonald's song,
and if they sing it correctly, [G] all the way through to the end, without making a [A] single mistake,
[C#] then you win a million [G] dollars.
Now, the odds of you actually winning this contest is 1 in 80 million.
So basically, I'm not holding my [G#] breath on this thing, but I figured, you know, what the [F#] heck.
This thing cost me [Em] only $8 on [G] eBay, and I thought it would make a cool addition to my collection.
And [B] if you look closely, you'll see [Gm] that the center hole has not [C#m] been punched out.
Meaning [A] that this record [G] is, in fact, unplayed.
And this [C#] specific record, as [A] you can see, came with this little [G] jukebox artwork on the front,
and on the back, it features six [Am] scratch-offs and [B] six coupons.
Now, [G] all of this stuff has long since [A] expired, but I'm still going to scratch them off for [Bm] fun.
But first, [G] let's actually [A] play this record and see if we won that million dollars.
[G] Now, this is going to be the very first time I actually play the entire [A] song for you guys [G] on this channel,
because the way I see it, I don't really think that McDonald's cares enough about this silly little [Em] song
to actually [G] copyright it with YouTube.
So really, honestly, I'm [E] not worried about playing it.
[Bm] So anyways, I'm going to shut up [Em] now.
Let's play this thing.
[A]
[G] [E] [G] Good morning, class.
Today we're going to learn the McDonald's menu song,
[F#] and give a listener out there a chance to win a million dollars.
[G] So, repeat after [D#] me.
Repeat after [D] me.
No, no.
[G] No, no.
Okay.
[C] Okay.
[D] Here goes.

tasty golden french fries, regular or larger sizes, salad, shepherd garden, or a chicken salad,
[G] oriental big red breakfast, steak and crumb, and hot hot cakes and sausage, maybe [F#] biscuits, bacon, egg [G] and cheese,
or sausage, Danish has [C] no stew, and four desserts, hot apple pies and sundaes, [A#] three varieties of soft serve,
three kinds of [C] shakes and chocolatey chip cookies, [G] and a drink, a Coca-Cola diet, Coke and [D] orange drink,
a Sprite and coffee, decaf, too, a low-fat milk, also [C] an orange juice, I love McDonald's, good time, great taste,
and I get [G] this all at one place.
Got it?
[B]
[D] Okay, now you do [G] it.
Big Mac, McDLT, a quarter pounder with some cheese filet, a fish, a hamburger, a cheeseburger, a Happy Meal
Ahh, [A#] [G#] too [G] bad.
Because if this class can do the McDonald's menu song all the way through,
our listener out there is going to win a million dollars.
Win a [B] million dollars?
[D] Yeah, so let's try again.
Big Mac, McDLT, a [A#] quarter pounder with some cheese

That's why [C] this is our [G] place
Good time, [D] great taste Of [G] McDonald's
Alright, well unfortunately [C] I didn't win the million [A] dollars
But I do [G] still have these six scratch-offs
So let's see if I won any of those
I'm not gonna scratch them off in any particular order
I'm just gonna kind of go through all of them
[Em] [Bm] Oh [Em] crap, I accidentally ripped it
Oops
[A] Looks like the scratch-off [G] material is like all messed up
This is from [A] 1988, so I don't think [A] the scratch-off stuff [G] works anymore
Alright, this scratch-off thing [A] isn't gonna work
So I'm just gonna stop right now
[Bm] Um, yeah, well [G] that's a bummer
Damn, [A] so I didn't win the million dollars
And I didn't win [G] any free items on the scratch-off [A] thing
Even though they were expired anyway
It would have been nice [G] to actually win one of these
Anyway, overall this McDonald's record was well worth [E] the $8 I spent on it
[G] And it'll be yet another cool piece of record [A] history in my collection
[B] Now, had you guys [F#] ever heard of this contest?

Good time, [D] great taste Of [G] McDonald's
Alright, well unfortunately [C] I didn't win the million [A] dollars
But I do [G] still have these six scratch-offs
So let's see if I won any of those
I'm not gonna scratch them off in any particular order
I'm just gonna kind of go through all of them
[Em] _ _ [Bm] Oh [Em] crap, I accidentally ripped it
Oops
[A] Looks like the scratch-off [G] material is like all messed up
This is from [A] 1988, so I don't think [A] the scratch-off stuff [G] works anymore
_ Alright, this scratch-off thing [A] isn't gonna work
So I'm just gonna stop right now
[Bm] Um, yeah, well [G] that's a bummer
Damn, [A] so I didn't win the million dollars
And I didn't win [G] any free items on the scratch-off [A] thing
Even though they were expired anyway
It would have been nice [G] to actually win one of these
Anyway, overall this McDonald's record was well worth [E] the $8 I spent on it
[G] And it'll be yet another cool piece of record [A] history in my collection
[B] Now, had you guys [F#] ever heard of this contest?
