We wanted to accumulate some songs so that we could have a whole bunch of stuff coming out together.
And it's just taking that time.
I mean, I write most of the songs and I tend to
I'm not really a terribly prolific writer.
Like, maybe Norman in Teenage Fan Club, he'll write maybe a song every month or something.
I maybe write a song every three months that I like, so it takes a bit longer.
[E] I meet some girls from around my way
Bring me up to people's hair
[A] They're jokers but I'm not [E] that
And they only mention it in the past
And [D] I don't [A] want it but I hope you [E] get it
And let me get to the bottom of this
Laura Lovett went into orbit
She's big as her imaginary [A] mom
She keeps her edge in her pocket
[E] She's setting off for a big blue rocket
[D] She's [A] always one flat in her [E] head
Looks real cute in her pink spaces
[F#] There's two types of Glasgow bands, I think.
There's [N] the ones that
There's the kind of musical career bands and the music bands, I would say.
And music bands are generally all these kind of people that started off as kind of outsiders
but had strong ideas about what they wanted to do and also what they didn't want to do
and probably because of that ended up making records for independent labels
and I'd say that groups that fall into that kind of category are probably the Pastels and Jesus and Mary Jane and Teenage Fan Club.
Then there's the other
I won't be too critical of groups like Love and Money in Texas and that
but it's a very different
They've got very different ideas about making music.
I don't know.
I find it difficult to call any of those groups.
I'm not particularly fond of them.
But [E] I don't really see myself as
You know, I used to run fanzines and everything.
It was just kind of put down all these bands and
Oh, it was just so childish.
I don't really care anymore, you know.

[G] I [N] like the fact that it's a big enough city that you don't run into people all the time.
I like a lot of the architecture.
And I think it's got quite a lot of personality, the city.
I like it because the Speedway side of the support comes from Glasgow, the Glasgow Tigers.
So that's cool.
I think
I don't know.
I think it's a very attractive city.
And I think it's quite a vibrant community of people that are doing things.
Although that's really up and down.
And pretty much the sort of people that are doing [Fm] things now
are the same people that have been [G#m] doing it for probably seven or eight years.
[F#m] [E]
[D] [F#m] [E] [D] [F#m] [E]
[D] [A] You know, I just think we make better and better records.
And I feel really passionate about the music.
And I love the feeling of excitement when I plug in my guitar.
And I mean, I know our next LP will be our best.
You know, we are in a fortunate position because we're not purely a music group.
Aggy's an extremely talented illustrator.
I'm a librarian.
David's a ski instructor.
We've all got other things we can go away and do.
So we're doing it because we love it, not because it's a sort of career or something.
I mean, we do it because we feel really, really passionate about the music.

Shut your mouth, let's move on [A] out of here.
Just try and keep it [B] light.
The summer may get hurt tonight.
[D] Don't talk that way, don't talk that [A] way, don't talk that way.
[F#m] Don't be [D] stupid, [A] I'm ready for you, sweetheart.
Now [F#m] my mind is [D] open wide.
[A] Shut up and make it [B] count.
You're a concentration, have a [D] smile.
Remember what was meant to [A] be this day.
The past is a disaster [B] and the future's coming faster [D] now.
What do you think we're going [A] to do?
