Start Jamming...
And now meet our Australian star folk group the Seekers.
Since arriving in this country their first record made number one and their second looks likely to do the same.
But I think it's true isn't it Judith that nothing very much had happened to you before you came to Britain?
Not very much.
[Eb] Things were beginning to happen.
We became quite busy up till just in the last couple of months before we left.
We found that we were doing a lot of hotel work and cabaret work but we didn't have a manager over there at all.
And I think perhaps if we'd taken it very seriously we might have done a bit more but we were treating it as such a hobby.
It was a hobby.
That's all it was.
So it was still something of a gamble coming to this country.
Well we came here for ten weeks for a holiday [Gb] Brian and it was this shipping company wanting us to go back to Australia to complete a couple of cruises at the end of 64.
We didn't take it seriously at all but when we arrived things started moving and people said no you must stay.
[Ab] So what could we do?
So we stayed around and then of course the [G] break came with the first record.
[F] And this has [Gb] been released in America too?
Yes [G] it has been released and it's doing very well apparently.
Do you think the new one is going to be released over there?
It will be released but we'll have to sort of wait until things [Fm] cool off with I'll Never Find Another You.
Sure.
[Eb] Okay well maybe we could hear it right now I'll Never Find [G] Another You.
Great yes.
Thank you.
[Bb] [F] [Bb]
[Eb] [F]
[Bb] There's a new [Eb] world somewhere [C] they call the promised [F] land
And [Bb] I'll be there [Dm]
someday [Eb] if you will [F] hold my hand
[Gm] I still need you [Eb] there beside me no matter what I do
[Bb] For I know I'll [Eb] never find [Bb] another you
[F] There [Bb] is [Eb] always someone [C] for each of [F] us they say
[Bb] And to be [Dm] my [Eb] someone's ready
I [Gm] could search the whole [Eb] world over until my [Dm] life is [Eb] through
But I [Bb] know I'll never [C] find another [Bb] you
[Gm] It's a long long [Eb] journey so [F] stay by [Bb] my side
When [Gm] I walk through the [Eb] sun you'll be my guide [F] be my guide
If they gave me [Eb] a fortune [C] my pleasure would be [F] small
[Bb] I could lose it all [Dm] tomorrow [Eb] and never [F] mind at all
But [Gm] if I should [Eb] need your love dear I don't know what [Dm] I'll do
[Eb] [Gm] I'll never find [Bb] another you
[Eb] [F] [Gm] Another you
[F] [Bb] Another you
Coming to you from [D] London, England this is Britain's Brightest Beat Show
[Bb] Top of the Pops
And at this point we switch the emphasis to folk beat
[F] Here's a song written by [Bb] Tom Springfield that's high in Britain's hip parade for the seekers
A [F] World of Our Own
[Bb] Closing all night the mile [Eb] we're staying [Bb] home for night
[Dm] Far away [G] it's gone the bustle [Eb] and the bright [F] city light
Let them all [D] fade away [Eb] just leave [Bb] us alone
[Dm] And we'll live [Eb] in a world [Bb] of our own
[Bb] We'll build a world [Eb] of our [F] own that no one else can share
[G] All our [C] sorrows we'll leave [F] far behind us still
And I know you [D] will find [Eb] there'll be [Bb] peace of mind
When [Dm] we live in [F] a world of our own
[Bb] [F]
[Bb] [Eb] I cry me [Bb]
[Dm] lonely night [Gm] without sleeping [Eb] while I long for [F] your touch
Now [Bb] you're listening
[D] [Eb] [Bb]
[Dm] With me to [Eb] a world [Bb] of our own
[F] We'll build a world [Eb] of our own [F] that no one else can share
[G] All our [C] sorrows we'll [F] leave far behind us still
And [Bb] I know you [D] will find [Eb] there'll be [Bb] peace of mind
When we live [Cm] in a [Gm] world of our own
