I broke my leg.
[D] It was a pilon [A] fracture, _ _ _ _ kind of close to my ankle.
_ So I'm thinking, okay, [D] broken leg, no big deal.
They'll put a cast on it.
[F#m] But then whenever I got there and I saw the x-rays, I almost [E] passed out.
_ _ As a single parent and [A] her mother, I didn't leave her side.
I remember feeling [D] so alone.
_ _ 11 surgeries?
_ [F#m] Yes.
_ _ _ And [D] she just had 12 and 13.
_ Since you've written this?
[A] Yes.
_ _ 13 surgeries as a result of this one freak car accident a mile from [F#] your house. Yes.
[F#m] Did you go back to Columbia and [D] Chicago?
I didn't go back.
I _ cut in because I [A] just had so many doctor's appointments.
I have to go to all of them.
_ [D] _ I could feel your frustration in the way that [F#m] your mom quoted you.
One of the times [E] that we were in the hospital going through this horrific ordeal,
I [Bm] said to her, Haley, _ _ _ [A#] the Lord doesn't put [A] anything on us that he doesn't think we're strong enough to handle.

He must think that I'm pretty freaking strong.
[A] If I _ was going through all of that, and I just didn't understand why.
