These days JJ is very busy.
What with the stranglers, [E] solo [Eb] acoustic tours, and of [A] course his karate [G] club.
_ [F] _ _ [Am] _
So [G] this is the Shidoukan Karate kickboxing dojo.
And there's a couple of my nutty [C] students.
_ Steve, [G] see.
[E] _ _ And Clark here [C] in King's Cross, _ [Gm] _ [F] downtown [G] London.
Spunky King's Cross.

Many years ago I sold [F] a couple of records. _
And [C] _ with the ill-begotten gains, all of us bought houses.
And in fact, _ _ three of the original four stranglers _ still live in those same houses.
_ Jet's still in the same place.
_ He's still in the same place.
I'm still in the same place in my one and only house.
_ And it's my right, or privilege or something, as a European, to have a pub 200 metres away from my house.
_ _ My right! _
And _ the only problem is my landlord is now called Dave Greenfield.
_ [G] _ _ [C] _ _
[G] _ [C] _ _ _ _ [G] _ [A] _ _
_ _ [C] This is the [G] place where I [F] live [C] and [G] the place where [Am] I love.
It was [C] total accident, the connection between me keeping rats and rats in the register.
_ [Am] One for you.
_ [G] About 10, 12 years [Cm] ago [G] now, my wife was in a pet shop looking for something for the [A] cat.
It's [Em] all for now.
_ She saw this big rat there [Ab] that she fell in love [Dm] with, so she took me down and [C] I said yes.
[G] _ _
_ _ [Cm] _ _ [Em] _ _ _ [A]
We're sitting at the moment in Ev's Bar [G] in the Windmill Pub, Plumbershion, which Pam, my wife and myself took over about a year ago.
Running a pub takes away _ most of your time for anything.
I've had to give up a fair few [Gb] bits and pieces, obviously.
_ [Abm] Personal [G] leisure time, I was in for Dog Day's re-enactment before and I've only had time to do a bit of archery since.
I haven't made any shows.
I like to get away from music when I'm not doing _ music, which is what I do.
_ _ _ When I'm not working professionally, I'm doing other things, reading or writing, whatever.
_ So I don't sit down and play records or CDs, I haven't done them for decades.
Not because I don't like music, it's just that when I've finished working, I've then got time to do the other things I want to do.
A lot of people have grown up with us and respect us for having carried on and also respect us for what we do.
_ It's like a little bit like a boyhood dream, you know what I mean?
I love to _ stand there on the stage and I look [B] across and _ JJ's [E] standing over there, _ _ giving it that.
So [B] it's cool, it's a rush.
We don't have to [E] worry about how [Eb] skin tight our leather is [Ab] or what colour our shoes are or where our highlights are or how many wrinkles we've got.
It's [Bm] not like that.
We do a great job.
We're a kicking live band. _
[E] _ [N] _ _ We've got 25 years of great material to fall back on. _ _ _ _
_ _ It's not the same for us as it is for Britney.
_ _ Poor thing.
_ The Stranglers continue to play sell out gigs _ and provide audiences with the kind of magic to which only they hold the key.
_ But the split with Hugh Cornwell was quite acrimonious.
They've hardly spoken since and Hugh wants no association with the Stranglers whatsoever, which is a pity in my view because I was fond of Hugh.
_ [D] _ Hey Hugh, [G] you better trouble along [D] I think.
Leave us.
_ [G] _ _
How [D] _ many times has a weatherman told you, Snoop, you're that man [G] you love? _ _ _ _
_ [D] You know, like the politicians and the leaders, when they do things [G] well. _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [A] _ Who has the [G] job _ [A] of _ [E] pushing the knob?
_ _ [G] That's not a [Bm] responsibility to snoop for if you're mad [A] in love.
_ It's _
_ _ [Bm] _ _ always the [D] sun.
_ _ [G] _ It's always the [Bm] sun.
_ [D] _ _ Always, _ [Em] _ _
_ [G] always, always.
_ [A] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [N] _ _
