Hello!
[D] _ _ _
[N] _ _ Thanks so much for being with us.
It's Valentine's Day and you've released a love song.
Is this a way of getting out of buying gifts for your partners on this special day?
It could be, but I don't think it's going to work.
That's the only problem.
I think it's a bad idea for me.
You what?
That's all you do, singing one of your songs?
But yeah, it seems appropriate though.
We didn't even time it, did we?
We're just like, what, it's Valentine's Day?
But _ you are very in sync and the musical path that you're taking
is so romantic and kind of classical _ bluesy.
But the two of you collabing as brothers,
you must have times when you disagree.
_ Yeah.
You really took time out.
_ What you're trying to say is who's Nolan, who's Lee.
Yeah, yeah.
What happens and how do you reconcile it?
Well, you know, we were talking about this today.
Our producer on this record, Eric Zabowski, he said,
you two, when you talk about music, you argue in a really polite [Gm] way.
And we [Cm] talk about it really reasonably, which is true.
And I think in music that's what we do,
but I think if it was about something else,
anything just mundane, like normal family [A#] stuff,
then it might be different.
But musically, I think we're trying to find the right answer
for this particular song and what this song wants,
what this song needs.
And we seem to be [C] pretty, so far, pretty reasonable.
So far pretty good, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, that's good.
That's lovely.
Bands have a journey and it is Valentine's Day.
You guys recently had a bit of a break up within the band.
Last year Liam and Brendan left.
How did you guys come [D] to that decision?
Yeah, I mean, _ we've worked together for a really long time
but it's really just four very, very different people.
And like in any business, in any _ _ band,
there comes a [A] time where it's just unhealthy to keep going [E] our separate ways.
[F#] And it's been a really [F#m] positive thing.
It's been really good.
[Bm] _ The guys have got great careers ahead of them, and so have us,
and we wish them all the [Em] best.
What I love about it though is you both play guitar,
but I understand you're still looking for a new one.
You can never have enough guitarists.
In fact, I think we have the auditioner here.
This is_ Oh, hey!
_ Tell us about this emerging young talent.
Look at this.
Well, this is the writing sessions of the Winding Way album.
And we did all the writing for this [D#] record.
We're rewriting the book, in fact, of all touring
and since having kids and songwriting.
We wrote all these songs with both our kids kind of flying around the room.
And the best thing we could do is kind of, you know,
we set my little daughter Ava up on_
We had our laptops and our guitars,
so the only way she was going to let us get anything done
was [G] to have her own laptop and her own guitar. That's great.
And set there.
It worked for about five minutes.
That's great.
It's like she's mixing it.
You can hear in all the demos we've got, like, you know,
us trying to finish the demo and just kind of screaming kids,
yelling, [G#] hey, look at this, look at this.
It's all kind of part of it.
And I think my son's made it onto some of the actual recording as well,
because he was in the studio when you were doing a harmonica solo
and he was running around the control room with a friend
and just talking about all sorts of crazy stuff.
And I think there's a pigeon there,
so you can listen out for a word talking about a pigeon
at the end of one of the [Cm] songs.
You might be able to hear it.
I'll be entitled to royalties if you're not careful.
Yeah, yeah.
[C] I will.
So the big tour starts soon.
You guys are going overseas, America and Europe.
I hear your Amsterdam shows have already sold out.
It's amazing.
Why did the Dutch get around the Teske brothers?
Why more so than other countries?
They're over in the Netherlands,
really, really passionate music lovers over there.
And I've heard it's not uncommon for bands to find the Netherlands
is a really, like just particularly there.
People buy tickets, people love music over there
and every time we've played over there,
really, really passionate music lovers,
and I think particularly for that rhythm and blues,
old school sort of stuff.
And I was talking to my dad about this the other day
and he was saying he remembers it being like that.
Way back it was always, you go into a pub in the Netherlands,
always have records, they're real music loving.
And it's always been like that for us over there.
So since we first toured there and nothing's changed,
which is good, you know, so it's exciting.
It's going to be amazing.
And same with the song, we're going for six months,
all our families are coming, we've got kids on the road.
We're trying to rewrite the book with young kids,
just bring everyone along.
What could possibly go wrong?
Yeah, yeah, what's going to go wrong?
What's that, 22 hours over to Europe on the flight?
You know?
The Teske [Em] brothers' new single, Oceans of Emotions, is out now
and their album, The Winding [B] Way, will drop June [E] 16.
Please thank Sam and Josh [Em] Teske!
