Today we're going to be listening to a new track from We Came As Romans.
This is Golden.
This is single number five, another band doing the a lot of singles releases
before the album, which there's nothing wrong with it as long as it's not like _ 10 songs out of 11.
All of the singles so far have been pretty jumpy, energetic, pretty nice.
They featured a very nice _
switch up in sound for We Came As Romans, which I felt was needed for them in order to like move
forward with a new sound, new, you know, obviously new lineup.
I've heard some things about this new _
_ _ track being a bit more of an on an emotional side.
So I'm excited to hear it and see what
it's all about.
So without further ado, let's jump into Golden and see what We Came As Romans
brought us here.

this is partly a tribute _ _ [F] based on lyrics.
I mean, [Fm] it's kind of obvious, _ _ _ [C] but it's a beautiful _
[F] _ _ _ [Ab] tribute then because [Fm] it does actually sound like that older era We Came [F] As Romans.
Pays [Cm] the homage to that _ _ _ [F] in a very [Cm] respectful way. _ _ _
_ _ _ I _ _ like the dynamic of [F] the song.
It keeps going [B] instead of stopping [Cm] to think, you know.

[Fm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[Eb] _ God damn, this chorus.
It's so dame.
[Db] Holy shit.
His vocals.

[Fm] _ The way he stepped up to the vocals
well, _ _ deserves nothing but respect. _
[Eb] _ I never heard him sing like that.
So, [Cm] you know, it's
[Db] _ really commendable.

[Fm] _ _ _ _ _ [Eb] _ I gotta say, Sharpton, I love you, but these music videos. _ _
_ I remember we, I think Miss Me I did a lot of these kind of visualizer music videos.
They're cool, but they're just so hard to watch sometimes.
There's so much stuff happening.

[Ab] They feel fake.
[F] They don't feel real.

the channel though, why that's not a problem [Fm] though.

chorus is the highlights.
_ There always has to be a highlight to this song.
[Eb] So I feel like chorus definitely accomplishes that for this one.
This was golden.
Why we came as Romans.
Let's talk about it.
So, uh, as the fifth single, uh, basically approaching
right against the album, I think it's coming out in October.
Uh, I don't remember exactly.
Let me check.
Yes.
It's coming out in October 14th.
So it's still a ways away.
It's a couple
of weeks away.
Um, I will assume we went, we will get another possibly, um, [Ab] song before that.
So a sixth single, maybe there's definitely going to be like a lead in kind of thing that that's
what they do nowadays.
Uh, a lot of times.
So _ specifically about this one, it definitely
_ differs from the other singles.
And I like that.
I like that.
This one is definitely
sounds like older.
We came as Romans.
It's it kind of pays tribute to that older era.
And of course
pays tribute to Kyle.
And I'd imagine to people who actually have been following this band for
a very long time.
Unlike me, I'm going to be honest.
I haven't really been on the, we came
as Romans bandwagon for that long.
Um, I'd imagine for those people, this, this song would definitely
hit hard, especially with a chorus like that, with the lyrics like that.
It's a fantastic, uh,
you know, _ kind of call back.
If you, if you will, of course I can say that like the song itself is
pretty standard sounding.
It's pretty generic.
If you want to throw that word around, uh, you know,
you got your verse, chorus, verse, chorus, breakdown, chorus kind of thing.
And then the
breakdown again, _ there's nothing criminal about it.
There's nothing wrong.
It's a formula that
kind of, that really works for a lot of songs.
And I feel like _ basically majority of the singles
so far that we've heard from them have sounded like that with that structure.
Um, so it's,
it's [N] sometimes more about what it actually sounds like rather than what structure it follows.
And I
feel like this song's highlight is the chorus and it works really well.
Um, and it's really memorable
and it's really catchy and I liked it.
I'm excited to see what else they have prepared for us next
in this album.
Um, so let's wait for that on October 14th with dark bloom, but that is going
to be it for this one.
