Hey, welcome to Plat Mark and today in this ukulele lesson tutorial I'll be going through
the brand new song by LSD called Thunder Clouds featuring Diplo, Sia and Labyrinth.
So if you like this tutorial make sure to subscribe to Plat Mark and hit our bell notification
to be told of the next great upload.
We've got loads of other really cool ukulele lessons and songs, pretty much anything in
the chart at the moment, as well as loads of Panic!
at the Disco, Ariana Grande, Cillian
Gomez, just pretty much anything really.
I'll be going through the chords that you're going to be needing and then telling [Cm] you how
to play them.
So the chords that you need, four chords, so basically this song is broken up into three
main parts, so the verse, the pre-chorus and the chorus.
[Em] So the chords that you're going to need are [Am] E minor, [D] D, [G]
[C] G and C.
[G] Just those four chords.
So if this is the part of the video where I say if you already know how to play those
chords then skip right ahead, but if you don't or just want a quick reminder [N] then I'll be
going through them right now.
So our E minor chord, that's [B] first string second fret, [D] second string [G] third fret [E] and
third string [Em] fourth fret, E minor.
[G#] D chord [N] is just getting your first finger and barring [F#m] the second, [D] third, fourth [A#] strings,
leaving [A] that first string [D] open.
Let's add D chord.
[D#] G [E] chord is [Em] first string second fret, second [G] string third fret, third string second fret
and first [D#] string open [G] and fourth string open.
[N] C chord, probably the easiest to play of all these chords today, or pretty much on the
ukulele at all, is literally just your first [C] string third fret and all the other strings open.
[N] So for the beginning bit, the verse, the first verse is our [Em] E minor [C] and C.
[N] So it's just E
minor, C, E minor, G and one strum of our D chord.
So [Em] it's E minor, [C] then C, I'll go for the strumming pattern in a minute, [Em] then E minor, [C] then C,
[B] [D] then D.
[N]
Okay so our strumming pattern, I said I'd do our strumming pattern, so it's kind of
more like a picking pattern if anything.
You literally [Em] just want to be, kind of want to be picking each individual string, [A] it's
like a [Em] rolling effect with your hand.
[F] Picking each string, [Em] then muting the strings, then playing all of them, picking all of them
at once, so [C] then muting them.
[Em] So pick, mute, play, mute, pick, mute, play, mute.
[N] You're not strumming this, remember, you're picking.
So assign each one of your fingers and your thumb to a string, thumb should be on the
fourth string, first finger, third string, second finger, second string and third finger,
[Em] the first string.
Get familiar with that.
And then with our [C] C chord, yep, so same thing, roll, play, roll, mute, play, mute, roll,
mute, play, mute.
[Em] And back to E minor, [C] then one bar of C, [D] then just play the D.
Don't roll up, just playing that.
[N] So it's two bars of E, two bars of C, two bars of E, one bar of [D] C, then playing [Fm] the D.
Then we go into our pre-chorus, [G] that is our, just our G to C.
Same strum pattern.
[C] And C, [G] and G, [C] and C.
[N] And then we come to our chorus, which is probably the most, the best bit of the song.
Then we come to the chorus, which is pretty much the only real strum pattern [Em] for the song.
[D] [G] [C]
[C#m] That's just [G] down, down, up, up, down, up.
[Em] Let's get that sorted out first.
Down, down, up, up, down, up, down, down, up, up, down, up.
[D] And [Em] the chords that you're going to need are [Dm] E minor, D, [G] [C] G, C.
[Em] So down, down, up, [D] up, down, up on E.
Down, down, up, up, [G] down, up, D.
Down, down, up, up, down, [C] up on the G.
And down, down, up, up, [N] down, up on the C.
E minor, D, G, C.
[Em] Yep, [D] [G] [C] [C#] then we just [B] go back into our verse, [Em] which is just again our E minor to [C] C.
To [Em] E minor, [C] to C, [D] to D.
And then it's our pre [G]-chorus, which is G,
[C] and C, [G] and G, [C] and C.
[C#] Then we go back to the [Em] chorus, which is our E minor, [D]
D, [G] G, [C] C.
Remember that strum [Em] pattern.
[D] Down, down, up, up, down, up, down, [G] up, up, down, up, G, [C] C.
And then it just uses [N] that chorus to do the outro and the rest of the song.
Really, really simple, really, really nice.
It's a really cool effect that they use with their fingers and their picking,
and they don't overdo it.
So I really hope you've enjoyed this lesson, this tutorial, on the ukulele lesson 4.
