Well No!
No!
We've come to our last song.
[E]
I know, but we're running out of [A] time and we really have to get to the bar.
But thank you guys so much for [Db] coming out tonight.
Before our last song, I'm gonna [Eb] answer a couple of the questions that get asked at [E] Home Free all the time.
And those questions are, [Eb] how did you guys get together?
[E] And where did you get your name?
[G] Well, this group is actually [D] entering
Well, this is [Eb] the 15th year of Home Free.
How about that, [N] folks?
This, I was gonna say young man, but used to be young man.
And this youngish man started the group [E] with another young man,
[A] who happens to be here [C] tonight, and his name is Matt Atwood, everybody.
Give it up for Matt.
I love you!
[N]
In Mankato, Minnesota.
And those guys put in like over a decade of their lives.
And just worked their butts off, you know, fighting for gigs and everything.
[D] And then once they were established, the three of us jumped on board.
And we're like, alright, we'll [Db] do it now.
So thank you, [Eb] Matt.
Thank you, Matt, for working so hard for me.
[Ab]
And how we got our name, well, you see,
Matt's [G] grandfather was [N] kind and generous enough
to [Ab] help Home Free in [E] the early [F] stages with some [Eb] startup money that bands [N] need.
And so as a tribute to him, we named the group [Ab] after his boat.
[D]
[Eb] And the boat was called Home Free.
[N] And he's here tonight too, everybody.
[Eb] Again, Matt worked with Home Free for over 10 years.
He got like a nice golf clap.
[E] [B]
The guy with the boat got us [C] standing on that thing.
[Eb] But seriously, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for either one of those guys.
So this is a pretty special night for us to have you guys both here.
Thanks [N] so much.
It's kind of funny too.
When we first started this group way back umpteen [Eb] years ago,
Matt said, you know, every year I go up to the thing with my grandpa
called the Big Top Chautauqua.
We gotta play this.
And of course, now we finally come here after he's left the group.
So, everybody relaxes.
[Db] That's really not that funny, Chris.
[N] Way to end on a joyful note, huh?
We know how to tell stories.
Now you know why he left the group.
Not how I saw
