When you were promoting Turner Tells, you were supporting people [D] like Striper.
Did they have any influence over this album?
No, not musically.

_ _ Hope it's the other way around.

They were great to tour with.
Musically, _ we're going for our own.
If we can find it somehow, we're going to try to find our own style.
[D] Even _ if it takes us 20 years. _
What was it like supporting them?
_ Did you enjoy it?
[E] It was great.
There were only two shows that were a little bit touchy. _
They were in the Bible Belt, which is a section of the US.
Which is pretty heavy.
_ _ One show in Dallas and one in Nashville.
_ Nobody was standing up when we played.
Those were the only two shows.
It was pretty [F] funny.
They were holding up devil's music.
_ _ Instead of rock groups, we had [Ab] religious people backstage.
Passing out [Eb] pamphlets backstage.
_ _ _ We managed to sneak a couple of fans in when they weren't looking.
_ Most of the time, we were learning about 24 different religions.
_ _ [D] It was pretty interesting.
We learned something.
_ We learned what we don't want to do.

They tried real hard, but they didn't get very far. _ _ _
They're actually really nice.
They don't push it on anybody. _
