Yeah, yeah, [Db] Zach's got a
Zach's got
You're a busy guy.
[B] I try.
I'm busy too, but it's always nice to have my brother here.
Now, [Db] you're sounding pretty good, dude.
How'd you learn guitar?
You know, this guy taught me a couple lessons.
I don't know, he kind of looked a little [G] bit like you.
Maybe a little younger, [E]
less [F] facial hair, you know.
[E] It's [Eb] weird, you know, the more I [C] played like him, the more I started to look [Fm] like him.
[E] Yeah, right.
So, [Fm] why don't
Just because you're [C] here, and I don't [B] feel like it, you know.
You can work, do all the work.
[Db]
Why don't you teach that opening lick?
Sure, [E] yeah.
Alright, [Db] so
The groove that I was playing was A minor to a [Am]
G. Right.
Which gives us [G]
something, you know, [Db]
basically you could just say, oh, it's in the key of A minor.
Sure, [Am] yeah.
But really the line is [Db] pretty much just the minor pentatonic scale.
[Dm] Yeah, it is, it is.
You're kind of coming up to the next [C] box here, so basically you're starting off [Db] on your A [Ab] root right here.
And you're just [C] wiggling it back [B] and forth the whole step, [A] so
[Bb] So you're going from your 10th fret down to your 8th fret, [G] back up to the 10th fret.
So it just looks like [Am] this.
And then you're [B] landing right on the [Am] 7th fret here for the next note.
Oh, with your middle finger there?
Yeah, so it's just kind of your
And that slide just [B] is like all the time.
Yeah, you've got to hit that [C] slide just right.
It kind of [Am] makes it, I mean
You could [Cm] do a pull-off thing, but I have a feeling they [F] do the slide and it definitely [B] adds [Am] some authenticity to the tune.
But [F] yeah, so you slide back and [A] forth, hit that [C] 7th fret, and then while you're there, you do the same thing [E] there.
So just the whole step, [B] slide back and forth between 7 [E] and 5.
And then you land [B] right on your A [A] after that.
[B] And I kind of slide back [Bb] a position so I'm ready for the next part of [Ab] the lick.
[C] Or riff.
[Bb] Lift.
Here you [Bm] go.
[Am] [E]
[D] [F] And then for the next [C] one, I [Ab] do a pull-off, I [G] think.
You know, [C] slide also works too, but it's [Bm] probably easier to pull-off.
[E]
So that's just all, [B] once again, [Ab] now you're back at your [A] basic A [Em] minor box.
[D] So the whole thing from the start
[A]
Clam chowder!
[Ab] Well, you know, I really committed to, you know, oh, and then I, technically [Am] speaking, slide down to my position here, so now I've got to
Clam it up.
[C] I've got to stick with it, I've got to commit to that.
They're going to point out the fingers, you [A] know. Okay.
[E]
And then the next part, [G] what I do, you know, and I don't even know if this is what they actually [B] do on the [Db] tune, it's what I hear.
And it's just kind of like [Am] an A [B] power chord, except you're up [A] here.
So that would be
[D] [A] 10th fret, 7th fret, and then
Or [D] no, I'm sorry.
10th fret, [Em] [Am] 9th fret, 7th fret.
[A] So
You're good, don't worry.
[G]
So I [C] do one of those, just move it [A] back a whole step.
[G] And then for the next one, [Bb] I do [Bm]
the same thing, I just drop the pinky note there, so [Dm] 7th fret, [E]
[Am] 9th fret.
[G]
Pull that down, [A] so [G] it's
[A]
[Bb] Nice, that sounds like it to me.
So from the [A] top,
[Am]
[G]
and then you can go into [C] your, you know.
They do a cool break after the first [B]
chorus that's kind of a little organ, [Bb]
piano type thing, and there's kind [G] of a little [Bb] vamp on it.
We've heard that a [Bm] lot.
[B] That's a Marty Schwartz original.
Not an original.
[F]
[Gm]
So basically we have the A minor to the G, [Db] and then [Dm] eventually in the song it just goes down to F, right?
Yeah, [C] yeah.
It's almost like Along the [Am] Watchtower.
It's A, G [B] to F, so you know, when Petty breaks his [A] thing, you know.
[G] [F]
[G]
What are you [E] going, I got [C] the feeling you [A] have.
[F] Oh yeah.
[G] [F]
A minor, G, G, G, F.

[G] [F]
[Em]
[Bm]

It's right before the [B] actual verse.

_ _ _ [Bb] Nice, that sounds like it to me.
So from the [A] top, _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Am] _ _ _
_ _ [G] _ _ _ _
_ and then you can go into [C] your, you know.
They do a cool break after the first _ _ _ [B]
chorus that's kind of a little organ, [Bb] _
piano type thing, and there's kind [G] of a _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ little [Bb] vamp on it.
We've heard that a [Bm] lot. _ _
_ [B] That's a Marty Schwartz original.
Not an original.
[F] _ _
_ _ [Gm] _ _ _
So basically we have the A minor to the G, [Db] and then [Dm] eventually in the song it just goes down to F, right?
Yeah, [C] yeah.
It's almost like Along the [Am] Watchtower.
It's A, G [B] to F, so you know, when _ Petty _ breaks his [A] thing, you know.
_ [G] _ _ _ [F] _ _
_ [G] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ What are you [E] going, I got [C] the feeling you [A] have.
[F] Oh yeah. _ _
[G] _ _ _ _ _ [F]
A minor, G, G, G, F.
Yeah.
_ [Am] _ _ _
_ [G] _ _ _ [F] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Em] _ _ _
_ _ [Bm] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Em] _ _ _
Where's that? _ _ _ _
_ _ It's right before the [B] actual _ verse. _
Well, [Bb] they got the line.
Yes, they did.
So that was good. _ _
_ _ I like that.
I like that.
I like that.
I like that.
I like that.
I like that. _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
