[B] [N]
I assume someone designed those for your custom?
Oh no, just spray painting.
Oh, you did that?
I did it all by myself.
Okay, that's cool.
Could you do a pair for me?
Hey, I sure can.
Let's start where I know people want me to start.
Who's your favorite new [D#] kid?
No, I don't want to start.
[E] You know, I was listening to the CD today.
And Jesus Gonna Be Here.
The groove, [Em] man.
Where did that come from inside you?
It sounded like some Alabama gospel.
Yeah, it's just gospel song, you know.
Jesus Gonna Be Here is gonna be here soon.
[N] Yeah, how long have you been in the gospel?
Well, I sang in the church when I was a kid.
And I've always been attracted to gospel.
And I was a soprano when I was a boy.
You?
That all changed.
But now my voice is a lot more manageable.
Your wife writes also, right?
Yes, she does.
We wrote a lot of the songs on the record together.
Yeah, it's a good record.
What was writing with Keith Richards like?
Well, you know, you always finish something.
You might finish the bottle.
You might not finish the song.
He's great.
He's very mellow.
He's good with animals.
[F#]
He can stand at the edge of [A] a cow pasture,
make all the [F#] cows in the whole pasture come to him just [A] by calling.
True.
You have a habit of making instruments out of things that no one else has used.
What's on this CD that's not traditionally an instrument?
[F#] Well, there's farm machinery.
Just found farm machinery.
[G#] And we welded [G] it together in something called a [E] conundrum,
which is a metal cross with a – it looks kind of like a torture device,
but it sounds better than it looks.
And it's just a – it sounds like a jail door closing.
Yeah.
[A] I've heard that noise.
