to be asked to [Em] produce an [A] album for Ed Piper called Gordon Dettel, _ a novel composer of
tunes and _ _ [D] _ a wonderful guy.
_ [E] It turned out to be his new [G#] studio album _ [D] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ and I asked him to put this tune [C#] on it, _ [N] _
one of
his and he wouldn't but he recorded it for me.

_ _ It was written in Brittany in North West France.
_ [E] There's a contest _ at the Lorient [Em] Interglottic Festival, _ a piping, fellow Highland piping
contest sponsored by Macallan with _ [E] _ _ _ a recipe for disaster. _ _ _ _ _ _
[G#] Gordon was the first person ever [A] to win a second Macallan trophy _ and _ he celebrated by
drinking the [Em] prize of course [A] and spending the prize money on more of the same. _ _ _ _ _
_ [D] _ And he woke up the _ _ [N] following morning with his head on a table in a pub in Brittany,
in Lorient _ and he had two things in his head.
One was an absolutely industrial high-lover _ and the other was this tune _ and he didn't
recognise the tune and he played it to all his friends and they didn't recognise it
either so _ he assumed he'd composed it. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ Correctly, as it turned out.
_ No one else has claimed it.
He just woke up with this beautiful tune that was composed by someone unconscious and whammed
out of their mind. _ _
