[F#] [G] So, I'm really excited to be here today to talk about my new Xotic XP bass.
This bass is bad.
It's definitely kind of a modern take on a really classic sound.
So basically what we tried to do was take that good old one pickup P bass sound and
put it into a five string body so that you could have the extended range.
This one was the first prototype so everything is just a little bit different than the standard ones.
I'll go over that in a second.
But it's really cool.
It's kind of your ultimate rock bass for me.
It definitely falls into that category.
It has that real warm earthy growl that a P bass has.
You know it's real different than a jazz bass.
It's so much more centered and focused of a sound than that to me.
And I think it's a really cool thing.
You know I know there was a lot of challenges with getting it to sound still kind of old
with like a five string neck on it.
And somehow I think we managed to come pretty close.
Pretty close.
It's a cool thing.
So it's the same exotic preamp that's in everything else.
The Trilogic.
So I have this one is set up volume, tone, bass, mid, treble and then the same mid center
point switches here.
And I have flat wounds on mine right now.
That's the way I've been kind of digging it lately.
But we also have one with round wounds on it so you can hear what they both sound like.
So with the flat wounds here I'll just kind of give you a sample line and then do the
same kind of thing on it with the round wounds.

[N] Alright.
So I also wanted to let you guys know about the amps I've been using now.
This is a Gensben Streamliner 900.
I think this thing weighs about four pounds and it's got 900 watts man.
It's been so killing for all my gigs around town.
I literally throw it in my gig bag with the cords and that's my head that I've been taking.
Tons of power.
The EQ on it is great.
Sounds really clear.
And I've also been digging, this is their Neoline cab, 212s for most of my smaller gigs around town.
It's a little less boomy, a little more mid-rangey than the 410 cabs.
I've also been using their Uber 410s which are great.
But it's a little less evasive maybe on the rest of the band with like beating them up
with the low end.
And also it's super lightweight.
I think this whole cab weighs maybe 25 pounds so it's really been saving my back too.
And I can't say enough good stuff man.
Gensben's has been great to me and making really, really great amps now.
Especially if you're not hurting your back lifting it.
That's not a bad thing.
