Guys what is up?
It's Brian back here again with another guitar tutorial.
It's new music Friday
Favorite day of the week Travis Scott got some new stuff coming out.
The song is called wake up it is
Super dope you probably hear it in a couple of bedrooms if you know what I mean.
Mm-hmm.
So this song
It's a little bit more
It's a little bit more kind of complicated I would almost put it as an intermediate guitar tutorial
But I'm gonna show you at least the chords
so that you'll be able to kind of
Familiarize yourself with the song and then also, you know do a modified easier version
but I will show you how how they're playing it, alright and

Ah, so zero capo.
Alright fantastic, but
There are bar chords
so, you know, it's it's gonna it's gonna be a stretch for some people and
you know the the way that the picking part is you really can't get around those bar chords, but
We are going to show you
The the chords as well.
So hopefully it'll be it'll be some somewhat
Of a good tutorial for you.
Okay.
So your first thing you're gonna do is you're gonna do a bar chord G
okay, and
How that is is it's gonna be on the third fret.
So three five five four three three and what you're doing with your
With your fingers, you're not gonna use a pick you're just gonna it's gonna be a plucking kind of song
So you're gonna go on the root note G
Okay, so you're gonna go one two and then pluck the A and G strings together
Okay, [G] so it's gonna one
And then you're gonna do it again
And then on this second time [Bm] you're gonna do you're gonna transition from this chord
[A]
[C#] Okay to an F sharp minor.
Alright, [G] so it's gonna take a little bit of practice I think
[F#m]
[N] Okay, and you're only gonna do that F sharp minor for that little transition because then you're gonna go to an F sharp major
All right, so you're basically doing the same hold as G
But you're just moving it down a fret and then for the minor part
You're gonna take your finger off the G string for the major [G] part.
You're gonna put it back on.
Okay, so you're gonna go
[F#]
Okay, so you're just gonna go you're gonna do it twice again on the F sharp major
[G] Then you go back to G G major
Then you're gonna do a little slide up from F sharp minor to G major
Okay, so you're gonna go bum bum bum then you're gonna go
Okay, and then you're gonna come all the way up to C which is on your eighth fret and that's gonna be a C minor
Okay, so you're gonna go not eighth fret.
Sorry seventh fret
seventh [Bm] fret
Yeah
It's actually a B minor I'm so sorry
Okay, and you're just gonna pluck it once
All right, then you're gonna do [B] this
[D]
[F#] Okay, and how you're gonna do that is you're gonna be on
Your ninth and tenth fret respectively of the G and B strings
Okay, so you're gonna go from a nine nine ten down here to eleven twelve
So you're gonna slide up.
So you're just gonna pluck your your G and B strings go slide up
Then you're gonna slide back down
Okay, then you're gonna [Bm] come down here to the seventh fret G and B strings
And then you start over.
Okay, so the whole the whole progression should sound like [G] this
[F#]
[G]
[A#] [Bm] [D] [B]
[Bm] [B] So, yeah, it's a little tough I'm not gonna lie it's I'm learning this for the first time [G] as you are
[F#]
[G] [C#] [Bm]
[B] [G]
[F#] [G]
[Bm] [E]
[A#] That's the guitar part.
Okay, so if you just want to play the chords
[G] You got G
[F#] Then you got F sharp major
And then you got [G] G again
And then you got [Bm] B minor
[G] So your G is your standard G right [A] three two zero zero zero [G] three.
[F#]
[G] [Bm]
[A] [G] I
Just threw an A in there just to kind of give it some some texture and balance
But your major chords in here are gonna be G F sharp major and then B minor.
That's it
That's the whole song
So [C] if you don't want to do the whole picking part, which you know will kind of take away from the song
You can totally do just the chords and make it an easy
Transition for you.
Okay.
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial
