[D] I want to say that [N] some of the fondest memories I have of being a part of this industry came
from exactly what we've been talking about.
Nashville is kind of a strange town, can be.
Especially for somebody like me who came from other places and sort of kind of felt on the
outside fringes in a lot of cases.
But I never entered the Nashville community than when I was sitting at Earl and Louise's
house, people like this, give them an opportunity just to pick and enjoy being in the company
of some of the greatest business.
Even though I enjoyed [D] being there, Miss Louise had [Gm] a way [N] of putting me on the spot.
And I wish I had my glasses because she would come up to me and she'd stand over my shoulder.
We're all sitting there, yeah.
That
[Ab] [N] was her look.
And she'd walk up and she'd say something like, Travis, I want you to play my song.
[Ab] And the only response that you could have to that was, what everybody responded to Miss
Louise was, yes ma'am.
[D] And, but I always, I always loved being around them.
And, you know, [Am] the great thing about, to me, about Earl Scruggs was that he really set
the bar for all of us in this area [Dm] to be the best [Ab] that we could possibly be [N] in our
craft, do the best job of singing, do the best job of picking the music, to try to match
up to the standard that he set for all of us.
And I loved him so much and I miss him so much.
And it's really an honor for me to be here tonight.
And if [D] it's okay with y'all, I want to do this song in memory of Miss [F] Louise.
[Bb] [F] [Eb]
[F] Miss Louise.
It's me staring out at the front [Bb] porch of that old brick house.
[Eb] I [F] was born to be a man.
[D] Staring at the dusty [Bb] fields where my dad worked [F] hard every day.
[D] And I think it kind of hurt him.
And [Bb] I think that little life's not [F] long.
[C] [D] Don't you ever dream that [Bb] I'm gone.
[C] [F] Don't you ever dream that
[Bb] [Cm] I'm gone.
You spent [F] your time [Bb] staring at your [F] window.
[Dm] So rest on these coasts and [Bb] these isles.
[F] You look up.
[Dm] Since the night you've [Bb] been sent to the [F] world's end.
[Dm] And find [C] the answers [Bb] at home.
[F] Home, don't worry.
[Dm] What comes of it later, [Bb] there's nothing there no other [F] way to go.
[Dm] You may change your mind.
Some people [Bb] speak too high.
Home, [F] don't worry.

[F] Now I'm home, man.
[Fm] [Dm] I can't see you for [Bb] me.
Since [F] I'm home.
[Dm] More than one can I think of each [Bb] other.
[F] Home, don't worry.
What [Dm] comes of it later, there's [Bb] nothing there no other way to [F] go.
So you [Dm] may change your mind.
Some people speak [Bb] too high.
Home, [F] don't worry.
