[Gm] Welcome [Bb] to Eric Blackmon Music.
[D] [Bb]
[Am] Hi.
True story.
Once upon a time, I worked at a music store.
And during the time that I worked there, I sold more guitars than anyone else.
And the real reason I was able to do that is that I was always honest with my customers.
Now one day, we have a sales meeting.
And the owner of the store tells us,
You cannot say that a [Dm] guitar is bad, no matter [F] how bad it is.
[Eb] And I'm thinking, wait a minute.
That's like lying to the customers, right?
And he says, No.
It's not lying.
You just don't tell the truth.
And I'm thinking, okay.
[Em] Alright, now how do I [Eb] get around this?
Shortly after this, a customer walks in to look at guitars.
I greet him.
Hello.
Take a look around.
If there's anything I can help you with, please let me know.
He looks around, and eventually he comes back to me and he says,
Look, I've narrowed it down to a couple of guitars.
I don't know anything about guitars.
One guitar is $100, and the other guitar is $1,000.
[E] Now, could you tell me, what's the difference between a $100 guitar and a $1,000 guitar?
And immediately, my mind goes back to what my boss said.
I can't say that that $100 guitar is a bad guitar.
So this is how I handle that situation.
[A] [D]
The $1 [F],000 [D] guitar is [E] a fine instrument that [C] you could play in any venue.
[Bm] You could also consider it an heirloom [D] and pass it down to your children [B] in the future.
[E]
Now, [Am] the $100 [G] guitar [A] is what I like to call a [Db] fireside guitar.
[Eb]
And he asks, [Ab] What's a fireside guitar?
[Am] Well, a [Gbm] fireside guitar is the kind of [Cm] guitar [E] you take on a camping trip.
You play it in front of the [C] campfire, and when you're done, [Gb] you throw it in.
Well, he [D] laughed, [E] and then he turned to me and he [B] said,
[Em] You know, [Gb] I think I'll take [E] that $1,000 guitar.
[Bb] [Eb] And I turned to him [Bb] and said, [Am] Good choice.
[Gbm] And that's my story.
[F] [Am] Thanks [E] for watching, [G]
and have a great day.
[Bb] [C] [Eb] [C] [D]
