Ok, in this video I'm going to break down the tune I played in the popular Uke Comparison
video I uploaded a few months back.
So even though it's a short tune, there is a lot of [Eb] tricky techniques in it, so this
will be a two part video, so make sure you subscribe.
Ok, this is what we'll focus on in this lesson.
[G]
[C]
[C]
Ok, [N] so to learn this, it's best to isolate the actual strumming pattern we're doing.
So let's mute our hand across the strings, and here's the pattern.
Ok, that's it.
Ok, so first of all, I'm strumming with my index finger, I'm not using a pick, so I kind
of have my index like this, and I reinforce it with my thumb, as if I'm holding a pen.
First of all, we go down with our index finger, across all four of the strings, and then we
do an up strum, but this time we only hit the top two strings, the E and the A, so
down across all four, and then back up with the index finger, you know, the tip of the
index finger, hitting the E and the A.
So, down across all four, back up on the E and
A.
Ok, and then we go down, but this time we only hit the bottom two strings, the G
and the C, again with the index finger, it's always the index.
So, down across all four, up, hitting the top two, down hitting the bottom two.
Ok?
Ok, as part of the pattern, we do that twice.
Ok, and then we end with one more down strum, and then up on the top two again.
Now all [G] together, it's down [Db] across all four, up on the top,
[B] down on the bottom two, across
all four, up on the top two, [G] down on the bottom two, down across all four, up on [D] the top two.
Ok?
[N] And then we can loop that pattern some.
Ok, once we get the pattern down, we can start applying to the chords in the tune.
So, we use a [G] G7, then we lift off our finger to get that open A, [Dm]
and then back to G7, and
then [C] C.
[Ab] And then we lift our finger [Em] off to an open C6, [Am] and [C] back to C.
[G]
[G] [C]
[G] Ok, so really slow.
[C]
Ok, so let me break that down.
Starting with the G7.
[G] Top two.
Top two.
[Ab] And then we do, we take off our [A] fingers, [Dm] lift off, [Gm] [Bb]
[G] put the finger back on, [B] and then we rest
[G] two.
[B]
So, let me speed that up a little bit.
And then we do the same thing again [Ab] with our C chord.
[C] So, down [B] across all four, up on the bottom two, across all four, [C] up on the top two, down
[Am] on the bottom two, lift our finger off, [Am]
put the finger back on, and then rest two.
[Ab]
[C]
Ok.
[G]
And we do the same thing again on the G7.
[G]
Ok.
Now we end [C] on this flurry on the C, so.
Now, to do this, down across all four, then we take our finger off, and then [Gb] we do the top two.
[A]
And then the bottom two.
[C] We do that four times, so.
Strum the C, [C] take the finger off, [Am] strum the top two, and then down [C] on the bottom two.
And we do that four times.
[B] And we end on two downward strums [C] on the C.
Ok.
[G]
[C]
[G] [C]
[N]
So I do hope that was clear enough for you.
Don't forget there will be a second part to this tutorial, [Abm] so make sure [G] you subscribe.

Now all [G] together, it's down [Db] across all four, up on the top,

Ok?
[N] And then we can loop that pattern some.

Ok.
