[Abm] First time that me and [Ab] the boys have been to Memphis.
[E]
[N] Yup, that's correct.
I just gotta double check.
I was here, I went to Utah.
We're having an opportune time to change some [Ab] staticky cables.
[F] I was here one other time, acoustically, I hear things called the high [E] tone.
I was [D] having some [N] split decisions there for a minute.
The place in Indianapolis called the [Bb] high five.
I was [C] like, is the high tone [G] really a high [A] five?
[N] I picked the right one.
I played a show with Cory Brannan in My Neck of the Woods.
Cory Brannan is an absolutely bad, bad band.
And a hell of a [Abm] songwriter.
More of a poet, really.
[N] [Abm] Oh, [Eb] no doubt, he's an absolute [E] guitar slinger.
He's a guitar [Abm] slinging poet.
Also known as [E] Rambo.
Anyhow, I opened up a gig for him in My Neck of the [N] Woods in Lexington.
And [E] he [Eb] asked me what I was [D] doing New Year's [F] Eve and the day before that.
I looked at my calendar [N] and that was the next week.
And so, I'm not doing really anything.
So, he's like, well, you wanna go on the road for a two day run?
I would be absolutely delighted to do such a thing.
So, he brought me here to the high tone.
And after that we went [E] to Little Rock.
[Ab] And [Abm] at the time, that was the furthest west that I had ever been.
[Ab] [Eb] [N] Thank you, Mr.
Brannan.
[Abm] [Dm]
[Bb] [Bm] [D] Well, tonight I'm up to get a coffee.
Down the way I'm from [A] paper mill.
I'm out here spittin' on the sidewalk.
Takin' in the [D] factory smell.
Getting up, pretending smoking out the window.
In [Dm] the air, [A] that gas pipe leave.
I wonder if she's cringing at the [E] same time.
Thinking broody [G] thoughts of me.
[D] I was up for hours this morning.
Pulled the trapdoor [A] and said goodbye.
I planned to [E] tend myself a fox hide.
And [D] hang it on my darling bride.
Cause they tell me that's gonna be a big one.
In the snow on a [A] Saturday evening.
In the dawn of a cold light.
Home, [E] baby, that [D] I've been.
[G] Spending my [A] nights in the barn.
[D] Lord, I heard [G] a song in the java [D] forest.
[A] Dreaming about the day that I sat by the fire.
With my honey and her [D] cuddly teeth.
Late at night, I come to the [G] cowboy.
[D] Normally, he's [A] circling.
We're [E] off to do some weekend war.
And I'm singing [G] Dream Control.
[D] Having a night out, playing on the sixth string.
He [Em] pulls out a fire.
[A] I'm trying to fix her up the castle.
It's called the [Dm] country spot.
[D] He has a 24-foot long vestibule.
The manager's empty-eyed.
[A]
It's a 53-year-old camper.
[Db] It's painful [D] hiding.
And I'm gonna do the studs and the wrap.
And I'm building back piece by [A] piece.
I'm trying to fix her up the temple.
I won't let you do the S [D] in the spring.
[G] Spending my nights [A] in the barn.
