So, there was a
we all went to this same school.
And we
anyway, in this school, high school, whatever you want to call it, comprehensive it was.
And there was a boy who came just as we were leaving.
And he couldn't move at all.
Anything.
Not a muscle, nothing.
Only his eyes.
His eyes were open.
And he'd been born without two hours of oxygen or something.
And he was completely paraplegic.
Anyway, his mother believed there was something about his eyes that he was awake and conscious.
So she used to read to him and teach him everything.
And read, you know, math.
God love him.
And poetry, anything.
And anyway, they developed this little drug.
And it allowed him to move his neck one inch, like that.
And so, they had this idea of putting a thing to his forehead and teaching him how to type.
And they found out that he really wanted this.
And that in fact he'd been writing poems for years in his head.
And his first poem was called I Learned to Bow.
And then he put out this book of poetry called Downburst of Dreams.
And it's kind of an amazing story really.
And it was in our head when we were writing this song.
It's called Miracle Drug.
