Hello Glam and Glam, it's Aldrine Guerrero and welcome to another episode of Uke Minutes.

Alright guys, it's time in Uke Minutes, we're going to be showing you tips on how to hold
an E chord shape.
[D]
Alright so tip number one, even before you start to attempt an E major chord shape, your
fingers should be able to bend backwards.
More specifically, your ring and your middle finger.
So if they don't do that, this is an exercise you can do every day to help so that your
fingers are able to bend back.
So you can take your ring finger and your thumb, create a circle, take your pointer
finger with your right hand, press on the first knuckle down so that your finger bends
back like it should.
Let go, and you can do this exercise, you can do it for however long you want as long
as you don't hurt yourself, but try to do this every day to practice getting your fingers,
those muscle memory that they need in order to bend back.
You can also do this with your middle finger as well.
[A] So ring finger and your middle finger, because sometimes your middle finger is used to play
that same chord shape.
Tip number two, the knuckle that bends back should be placed on the E string, and the
rest of your fingers should naturally curl to hold down the C and G.
You want to make sure that the bend is happening and that you are not touching the A string.
[E]
Then you're going to take your pointer finger, bar the second fret, the thumb should be in
the back supporting the chord.
[D]
Same thing goes with the D chord.
You're going to use your middle finger, you're going to do the bend, make sure not to touch
the A string, your thumb is supporting it from the back, holding it all together.
[E]
[D] [E] Alright guys, that was tips on how to hold your E chord shape.
Now make sure that you practice those exercises every day to help your fingers get in shape,
and also make sure that you're holding the shape correctly.
