Hi good morning everyone today we're going to do a rendition of Ventura Highway by America.
It's a little easier rendition than what it normally takes to do it.
If you're a guy like me that doesn't strive for perfection when it comes to [F] having fun
on the guitar then this [G] is for you.
Again this is not perfect but I seem to like it.
I seem to like it because it's a little bit easier.
And this is for my compa.
Compa [G#] this is for you.
[D] So let's see.
How I started [N] this thing is I start off of the pentatonic A on the E string on the highest E string.
So it would start like [E] this.
[N] Sorry so it's like this.
You got your finger on the fifth fret on the E string and you hammer on pull off on the [A] seventh.
[D#]
[D] Then you go up to you know the same fret the fifth [G] off of the [D#] B string [F#]
and you hammer on
pull off on the seventh fret.
[C#]
Just slide that finger all the way up to [A] or down to the second fret.
[D#]
And this is how it goes.
A little easier.
[F#]
[G]
And then you strum the G chord.
[E] Strum the G chord [G] or bar the G chord right here on the third fret.
[D#]
Do that.
So [G#] and the other is one two three four I believe it's five chords.
It's a [Am] little easier.
I believe this [F#m] is F.
[E]
F major seven.
[C#]
You press the E [F] the B and the G string [A#]
on the second fret.
[F#m]
And that's your I believe [B] it's F major seven.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
[G#] And then the G and then you keep strumming back and forth.
You know that one and the G.
And then it goes into.
One goes into.
[F#] Cause the free winds blowing through [Em] your hair.
And the days are on the day.
You start on the E minor.
Cause the free winds blowing
[F#] through your [Em] hair.
Then you use your F [F#] sharp minor.
Which is on the second fret.
You bar the second fret.
Second fret your finger.
Just like so.
[F]
And then you use your [G#]
ring finger and your [E] pinky.
[G#]
To [F] press on the third fret.
[G#]
[A#]
[E] [C#] [F#]
I'm gonna go ahead and play for you guys so maybe you guys will be able to get it.
[A] Cause I sure in the hell don't.
I'll do [Fm] my best.

you don't care.
I
[A] know,
[G] they drive away [A] in the sunshine.
[G] Where the days are longer, the nights are stronger [A]
than moonshine.
[G] You're gonna go, I [A] know.
[Em] Cause the free winds blowing [F#m] through your [Em] hair,
Chasing around [F#m] you, daily bed.
[Em] Seasons crying, [F#m]

[G] Where the days are longer, the nights are stronger [A] than moonshine.
[G] You're gonna go, [A] I know.
Cause [Em] the free winds blowing [F#m]
through your [Em] hair,
The days surround [F#m] you, daily bed.
[Em]

[B] Like I said, if you're a guy that just likes to have fun with the guitar
and you're not striving for perfection, you're [F] striving to have fun.
And you're just hanging around the house.
Like today man, I just got laid off for the next two [B] weeks.
So I'm laying around the house, you know, learning a song or two.
And [G] you're struggling with the punches.
And that's what I do.
So if it works for you, fine.
If it [D] doesn't, I'm sorry.
It's a little easier rendition than what it normally takes to do it.
If you're a guy like me that doesn't strive for perfection when it comes to [F] having fun
