_ The [F#] guys kinda like make fun of me whenever I'm on vocal rest
cause it just seems like I'm being a dick and then I'm like [D] angry at everybody
but uh, [Dm] _ _ but yeah that's like the one [F#] thing in my life
that will really, you'll [A] know if I'm not
_ _ _ [Dm] if I'm feeling kinda [E] bummed out it's because
[C#m] _ _ you know I can't do the one thing that I'm here to do
[D] which is sing [E]
songs to you guys
[Am] so _ _ that _ really [C#m] bums me out
when [Fm] I'm on tour and so you [D] just gotta _ be careful
_ get some [F] sleep, it's the only thing you can do

if [C#m] you're feeling like depressed on tour, you're just bummed [A] out
you _ know my voice is gone or you know [E] I'm missing the family
or [B] something like that I guess [C#] uh
you know _ [N] the one thing that keeps us going is definitely
seeing our fans singing songs like when I like look at them
and _ _ when we're doing these [F#] shows that's uh
_ _ that's really the payoff for [F#m] everything
_ you know, _ [B] _ _ [G#m] when we wrote the songs like back home
[D] it was just like us in a small practice space
so it's kinda [A] cool to be out here on tour
and seeing them all actually come to life

you know [F#m] push through anything that's going wrong
you know whether it's a hurting voice or
or _ you know _ _ [D] just being homesick
[F#] or _ [C#] you know breaking your foot
me and [D] Jaime both broke [F] our ankles
while we were in the UK _ at different times
[F#] and uh _ you know _ _ but it's all worth it
[G#m] you know when you get to play a show at the end [B] of the day

_ _ So my [F#m] support system
[D] _ _ _ _ [D#] _ you know _ [F#m] I _ [N] would definitely say
you know it's pretty obvious
_ I'm around my band constantly
so they are a big support system to us
_ whenever anyone's going through something crazy
_ you know like a family member going through something
or whatever _ _ that's kinda when we
_ really show how close we actually have become
over the years [F#] and almost like brothers

[Dm] _ you know who else [E] do we have out here
while we're touring

_ _ so [D#] when we go [B] through hard times together
[D#] that's kinda _ what brings us even closer
and _ _ _ _ _ other than that
I've got my _ best friends at home
my [C#] roommates _ [G#m] that I live with
my [F#m] parents, give them a call every once in a while
when you really need to _ _ _ _ get that feeling [F] of
being home again

_ _ and [C#] I'm also kind of a
_ _ _ _ [A#] _ solo person a lot of the [B] times
like on _ _ days off
[F#] the band knows and I'm always the one that'll
just go [A] wandering around the city
and listening to music
_ [F#] _ _ I mean half the pictures that you've ever seen of me
I'm usually wearing headphones
because I'm just [D#] walking around listening to music
and that's kinda therapeutic for me

that's another support system
[D] just for [F] myself is just listening to music
_ [G#] the thing that we've found in this band
over the last [C#] 7 years
is _ _ definitely been _ _ _ [F#m] to
_ basically just _ _ [C#] _ _ show _ ourselves _ _ _ _ _
in a normal light the way that we always are
together [Fm] just kinda being our funny selves
[F#] hanging out and _ not hiding _ [F] anything _ _
from people
[F#m] I think the _ [C#]
important thing about our band
is that we've always kinda _ [G#m] just
_ _ [F#m] _ I don't know
[C#] been, _ _ [F#] you know
_ [F#m] it's hard [B] to describe [F#m] here
I _ _ _ _ [Fm] think the thing that they attach most to
is [G#m] that they get to see us in our normal selves
we're not acting [F#m] like something else
we're not [G#] trying to dress a certain way
we're [A] not trying to _ _ _ _ [D] _ put on [C#] some sort of front
[E] _ _ _ _ we've kinda figured [D#] that out over the years
that that's the best way to connect [F#m] with people
is _ _ _ [B] to just let them see who you are
_ [D] whether it be on _ [E] _
stage
or doing interviews or [C#]
photos
_ _ _ _ I think that's what people have connected with
with our band _ _
[F#] just seeing us _ joke around
sometimes I [E] see people write
[E] when I see you guys [F#m] _
[C#m] having a good [A] time together
[D] that makes me feel like _ someday [B] I can be [E] _
happy as well
with my [D#] friends in my life
I _ think [F#m] that's the important thing
just [E] _ _ keep [B] _ _
showing yourself
_ and being proud of who you are
[E] and just being _ _ _ [G#] open
so my [C#] advice to anyone trying to
follow a [G#m] dream or make something [C#m] happen in their life _
_ _ I would [F#] just say
you have to _ _ _ pick something that you love doing
[A] so that you can [D] just do it forever
whether you [E] become _ [B] insanely successful with it or _ _ [D] not
[F#] at least you're [C#] being _ _ _ [D#] happy
[B]
doing what you love to [F#] do
if you really love something, just keep at it
[E] for _ example, our [F#m] band _ _ _
_ it took years before we got signed to a record label
or started touring
we never thought we would ever get signed
or _ [B] do what we're doing right now
[F#m] but that didn't matter in the beginning
we were just _ _ _ _ having fun in our bedroom
playing small shows
_ [B] _ _ _ _ [D] _
we just kept at it
[A] and one day out of the blue
we got a call and things started taking off
on a bigger level
_ _ [F#] my advice is to keep at what you're doing
and loving _ _ what you're doing
