Vince Gill On What Songs He'll Sing With The Eagles & How He's a Fit chords
Start Jamming...
[Bb] Vince Gill speaks out about his new job with the Eagles.
He says he's a pretty
good fit and he [Gm] tells us what songs he's gonna be playing on those two shows and
possibly a tour to follow.
Come on let's face it there will be a tour to follow.
I'm John Bodin this is [Bb] RockHistoryMusic.com. He sat down with Rolling
Stone magazine and basically said it was a dream come true to [Gm] be in the Eagles.
He's pretty happy with his new digs [Cm] with this band.
Gill said the whole thing
started [Gm] off with his management contacting the Eagles management Irving
Azoff about the possibility of him joining up with the band but he didn't
think they'd take him seriously.
The country superstar admitted that he knew
Glenn Frey better than any other member in the Eagles [C] but he and Don Henley
[Gm] really gelled when they performed together and did Don's album Cast
Country.
Vince was also talking to Joe Walsh at the time who was of course an
Eagle about performing and doing something like the Traveling Wilburys.
What they did in 1988 was Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne, George Harrison
and Tom Petty.
They really wanted to do something like that but then all of a
sudden Glenn Frey died and everything was up in the air.
Gill says he's very flattered to be in the Eagles and feels he's a great fit
[Cm] adding the things I can [Gm] do and the gifts I've been given really marry well.
He also
said that considering country music earlier on did [Eb] not embrace [Gm] the Eagles he
feels that Merle Haggard and George Jones had nothing on the Eagles [Eb] as far
as a mass [Gm] majority of people trying to emulate them and he says no disrespect
to the country greats.
So what songs will Vince Gill sing with the Eagles?
He told
Rolling Stone, Lying Eyes, New Kid in Town and Heartache [Bb] Tonight which were all
Glenn Frey songs.
He's also [Gm] going to do and I think some people were hoping
Randy Meisner would show up at a gig or two.
That's not gonna happen.
He's gonna
do Randy Meisner's Take It to the Limit and with that in mind he was also [Bb] asked
if Bernie Ledin would possibly be on [Gm] any shows.
Bernie left quite a long time
ago.
Vince Gill says I'm a new guy in the band I don't really know the inner
[Bb] workings of the band so he kind of was [Gm] very diplomatic about that and they asked
him the big question okay we know there's gonna be in a Classic Rock East
and West show this summer will there be more and we all know there's gonna [Bb] be a
tour and he says of course I would join.
Try stopping me.
I would be the first
person [Gm] on the bus.
I would drive my car to be in this band [Eb] because as he quote
they're my favorite band of all [Gm] time and a lot of people got fired up when we
announced this on our YouTube page [Eb] that Deacon, Glenn Frey's son was joining [Gm] and
that Vince Gill was joining the band and all I ask is [Eb] one thing I mean I
appreciate your feedback we all do and it's a [Gm] great thing but let's keep it
above board man some of [Cm] the some of the stuff we have [Gm] to take off our channel
because it was venomous it was come on I mean really they're just a rock band
country rock band classic country rock band no need to get crazy in the
comments but we do want you to comment make sure you subscribe to our Channel
