[E] It's good to be back in Croftsville [C#] this morning.
[G] My wife gets happy if I sing a bunch of songs without [F#] saying anything, but this morning
I just felt like we should [B] just sing.
I like to [N] close with a song before the pastor comes.
It's been a little while since we've been here.
[G#m] It's kind of nice.
[B] A lot of people say, we ain't seen you for [Cm] a while.
[N] I'm glad you remembered me.
And you realize I have been [G#] here for a while.
You know, Teresa and I, since mom and dad retired [G] last year, we hit a million miles
traveling just in trucks and vans.
[F#] Keep everything kind of simple for 19 years.
[G#] But in all those miles, did you [G] know my wife Teresa does all the [N] driving?
All the ladies are looking at me like, you sorry, you rat.
She [D#] does all the driving.
I just hold the wheel.
[N]
[Em] [A] [N]
My family recorded the song in [G] 1989, written by Gene and Val Johnson, who are over here
[F#] in Sparta, Tennessee.
[A] [G] It became our first number one song.
[D#] I remember we were just [D#m] right there in the, in the, started [F#] out in the war.
At the time, [A] we came out with this song, the Desert Storm.
[Em] [N] And it kind of was a bad time.
We had not been in a war [G] for a while.
[F#] I remember when we recorded this song, [A] we were, we were really lucky.
We were expecting Jesus to come back.
I remember we were in Florida singing when it just started.
Thomas, [G] our son that's now, I think 29 or 30, keeps changing.
I can't keep up.
He's just a little [F] boy.
He would have been [N] maybe three years old, two and a half years old.
He sat down to eat in a restaurant.
He wanted to pray.
He had heard about that war, Desert Storm, seen it on TV.
And that little, little two or three year old kid prayed that God would protect our people.
I would say there's men alive today and women because of a little boy's prayer.
But we were looking and expecting him, what is that, 27, 28 years ago, 28 years ago.
He's not yet come.
I wonder how many of you this morning know there's only one reason that he has not come.
I wonder how many of you know the, know the reason.
It's not a bunch of reasons.
It's only one reason.
I know the pastor, I know the Sunday school teacher knows it, this brother knows it, this
Sunday school teacher knows it.
It's because our heavenly father has not looked over on his right side and said, son, it's
time to go.
It's time to go.
Yes.
My faith, the fact [Gm] that he's not come in all these years since we [G] recorded the song, has
not, does not, will not decrease.
[F#] Yes, my [E] faith is actually [D] stronger [B] today.
I know even more today [N] that he's coming.
Back in 89, I re-recorded this song a couple years ago.
I like to sing this one.

[E] [B]
[F#m]
[E] Once he came to this world [A] of sin and sorrow, and [E] unbelief in a manger [B] with Bethlehem.
[F#m] But [E] this time he's coming in [A] all his power.
Great [E] kings of earth will [B] bow and worship [E] his great name.
Coming soon, Jesus [A] in all his glory.
Not [E] just a sinner, but [B] a reigning king.
[F#m]
[E] Coming soon, and the whole world [A] will be witness.
Oh, [E] be ready [C#m] [B] for he is coming soon.
[E]
And when he comes, he'll find the power [A] of Satan.
[E] Little children with a lamb and [B] life will play.
[A] And [E] all the earth will be so filled [A] with his glory.
[E] No need for crying, [B] for all tears are [E] wiped away.
[C#] [B] [E]
Come in soon, Jesus in [A] all his glory.
Not [E] just a sinner, but [B] a reigning king.
[F#m]
[B] [E] Coming soon, and the whole [F#] world [E] [A] will be [E] witness.
Oh, be ready [C#m] [B] for he is [E] coming soon.
Let's all sing together.
Coming soon, Jesus in [Am] all his glory.
[F#m]
Not [E] just a sinner, but a [B] reigning king.
[A] [E] Coming soon, and the whole world [A] will be witness.
[E] Oh, be ready [C#m] [B] for he is [E] coming soon.
[B] Oh, [E] be ready [B] for he is [E] coming soon.
