[F] I'm going to present this next recording as a tribute to country and western and bluegrass
pioneer Mr.
Wade Maynor.
Wade is 104 years old and he's often called the grandfather of bluegrass.
Just received word from a pretty reliable source that he's [Dm] just returned home from hospice
care [Fm] and has but a few days to live.
Wade Maynor, if you're not [Cm] familiar with him, he began his recording [A#m] career in 1934 [F] with
his brother's band, Maynor's Mountaineers, [Fm] and he began a recording career that would
last almost six decades up until 1993.
[C#]
He was one of the few pre-war country [F] artists that survives and is still active.
So here's a tribute to Mr.
Wade Maynor.
This is Walk That Lonesome Valley from 1936
[Fm] and he's singing on this record and also playing the banjo.
He's singing with Zeke Morris and it's Walk That Lonesome Valley, Montgomery Ward, number M7007.
Tribute to Wade Maynor.
