[N] So you were not in the band for a year or two or something along there, didn't you?
Didn't you leave and come back at one point?
Yeah, I, I, there was a personal situation that caused me to, to have to quit.
This will take a second.
I had two kids and there was a car accident.
They were both in.
One of them died and the other one survived.
And at that point, the road wasn't, you know, just not an option.
Had to stop and, and take care of him, take care of the family, take care of me.
It was just, it was time to stop.
I wrote a song for that situation.
It wasn't necessarily about her.
It was about both my kids, but it was more about the questions that they ask you that
you give an answer for.
But then the answer's not really sufficient.
You're answering a child.
The song was called Who Made the Moon?
And you, that was the questions.
And I took it from questions that they had asked me.
And it's the one song that flowed out of me really quickly.
And I've never gone back to do more or, or, and I'm not driven to do that.
We haven't played it for four years.
Some woman came through the other night and said, I lost a child and I know you can't
do Who Made the Moon during the set because you can't get through it.
I've tried.
We had it in the set for a while and people don't want to come [A] see that on a regular basis.
I know that some people can relate to it, but in general, you're at a festival and people
are partying and that's, that's, that's not what we're there to do.
I'm not there to put my story on my sleeve and, and whatever.
But we recorded it and people have, and she said, it's still my favorite song, favorite
Little River Band song ever.
So I'm proud of that.
And I did what I could do.
Her little eyes looked up [B] to [A] the evening sky.
[B]
[A] As twilight spread across her sweet face, she wondered why.
[B]
[F#m] She turned to me [A] to ask [D] who made it so, [Bm]
so [A] sure that I would [B] know.
[A] [G]
Who made [C] the moon?
Who paints [F] the sky?
Who hangs [Am] the stars?
[G] Who turns them on [C] each night?
[G] Who tells [Am] the rose it's time [D] to bloom?
[F] [G] How did June [Em] bugs know [F] it's June?
[G] Dad, who made [A] the moon?
As
[Dm] [A] that little girl grew up to discover life, she found that people's words could cut deeper
than a knife.
[D] [F#m] But somehow [A] hers were [D] always used for [Bm] good.
I guess [A] she understood.
[G] Who [C] made the moon?
Who [F] paints the sky?
Who hangs [Am] the stars?
[G] Who turns them on [C] each night?
[G] Who fills the [Am] hearts that [D] have no [G] room [D] with [F] [G] shooting stars [Em] and toy [F] balloons?
Dad, [G] who made [A] the moon?
[E]
Who decides [Bm] who gets to live?
[E]
Who [Bm] decides it's time to die?
[E]
Who decides the [Bm] ones you love don't get to say [F] goodbye?
[A] Now I sit alone and search the evening sky.
I'd give everything I'll ever [D] own for [A] just one more night.
[Bm] To [F#m] hold her close [C#m] and [D] share the mystery [Bm] and hear [A] her asking me.
[G] Who [C] made the moon?
Who paints the [F] sky?
Who hangs the [Am] stars?
[G] Who turns them on [C] each night?
[G] Who shows [Am] the world how to play [D] in tune?
[F] She [G] got her [Em] answers way [F] too soon.
She [G] knows who made [A] the moon.
Who made the [D] moon?
Who paints the [G] sky?
Who hangs [Bm] the stars?
[A] Who turns them on [D] each night?
[F#m] How can I [Bm]
fill this [E] empty room?
[G] Why'd [A] she have [F#m] to leave so [G] soon?
[Em]
God, [A] who made the [B] moon?
