[Em]
[D] We met
[N] in about 1984 in junior high school, at a peg-me-day.
Our hobby was like music.
We were hanging out at local record stores and the local college radio station.
Each of us had different things in our record collection that the other one didn't have.
Aaron's dad had a lot of [C] psychedelic records.
[A] I was really into punk [C#] rock.
We would just turn each other [G] on.
We called Ween right from the beginning.
The first day that we decided to make music together.
Ween at the time, I didn't realize that we would have to answer for it.
But 16 years later, it was just a word that we used.
It was a [N] silly word that described our personalities.
We looked at the sound of the music that we were making and thought,
I don't even hear [G#] the word [F#m] anymore.
There's nothing behind it at all.
[B] When [F#m]
we [C#] [B] pick album titles, we want it to sound [F#] like it's a great album.
[E] No matter what's [F#] on it.
A [C#] classic [B] album.
A [D] white pepper album [E] could be a classic rock album.
I think the [G] way we look at our records,
the people [N] who buy them look at them a lot differently.
I think we look at it more like a document,
like a time frame, a time period of our lives.
Where we're at personally.
Something like that.
We really have no idea what's going to happen on the record when we start.
We just start working on it, and as it starts to take some kind of form,
[G#] then we work from that point, [N] making it more of a cohesive thing.
But when we start out, it's just really
Just write a bunch of songs.
It's just a snapshot of our lives at the time.
[G#]
[N] Try to pick the typical Ween fan.
Some kid sitting at home smoking weed with his mother.
That's basically about a typical squad.
It's not the way it is with everybody, but that's definitely the majority.
They're definitely all different.
There's a lot of the older, hippie vibe.
A lot of people our age.
But for the most part, it's like teenagers.
When you're on tour, you always maintain a normal thing.
But people have their big night out.
I think it's with any band.
They look forward to that night when their favorite band or whoever is playing.
People just [G#] go nuts and do all [N] kinds of crazy stuff.
So you wind up just seeing all this stuff night after night.
It's just insane.
They say every night is Friday night in rock and roll.
We get a lot of really ill shit happening.
I'll tell you the truth.
Most of it involves hallucinogenic drugs because our fans are kind of tapped into that.
A lot of it isn't funny.
Lactating women has been the thing for the last two years for some reason.
It's happened to us a couple times.
Yep.
[A#]
Women come up and spray us.
It's never happened to us.
It's happened two times in six months.
Two [G] different women in two different cities.
It's just been crazy.
Are you sure it's weaned?
I think we're just going to continue to keep making records and doing our [A] thing.
Trying to dominate the universe.
I think the plan all along has been, even since we started,
[N] wouldn't it be funny if we were 60 or 70 years old and we were still doing it.
I [Cm] think with that in mind,
[E] we'll [D#] just keep going.
[D] We'll go as far as we can.
We enjoy what we [G#] do.
[N] There's still some key things we have to experience.
The bad cocaine phase.
We've never made it to all the really good rock and roll shit yet.
Multiple divorces.
All that shit.
We couldn't have a rockumentary about us yet.
We haven't exactly.
We've been pretty idle.
We've done a lot, but it's been none of the good stuff yet.
Somebody's got to lose a leg or something.
All the freebies and the phase and all that shit.
That's why I'm in this band.
So far it's been a great
