Hey, what's up you guys?
Marty Schwartz here, GuitarJams.com.
Rain or shine, sickness and in health, I'm going to be teaching you guys some guitar.
So good news and bad news.
Good news is I'm on some cold medicine.
Bad news is anything can happen.
So bear with me.
But I'm going to teach you this cool little riff right now.
Actually the whole song.
So here we go.
So the first thing we want to do, and actually I like this one a lot because it sounds harder
than it is to play.
And that's a good thing.
So we're going to take our middle finger, we're going to put it on the third fret of
the low E [Em] string.
Just like that.
The A string is not played on the first chord.
Index finger goes to the second fret of the D string.
Like that.
And you pick the E then the D.
Then my ring finger, shut your mouth, is going to be on
the third fret of the G string.
And that's the chord.
We go.
[Gm] And then we hit the open B [B] string.
Just like that.
Check it [G] out.
[Gm] [Em]
[Gm] The [Bm] second chord of the tune [N] is actually, if you get that one down, this is really simple
because what you do is you just take your middle finger and you scoot it over to the
third fret of the A string.
And then you pick it the exact same way but you start with the [C] A string.
And you just go.
Like that.
[F] So the first [G] two chords go like this.
[C]
Just like that.
The third chord and the next chord, we're just going to take this little shape that
we [D#] have and scoot it up a whole step.
So my middle finger is on the fifth fret now of the A string.
And we do the [D] exact same picking as we did on the second chord.
[Bm] Then we just scoot it back down and do the same [C] thing again.
[G] So all together it sounds like this.
[Em] [Gm] [C]
[Bm]
[F#] [B] [C] Back down.
And [G] you do it again.
[C]
[Bm]
[F#] [B] [C]
[D]
[C]
[D] [C]
[N] And then you just have one other part.
We'll call it the chorus.
And what we do is we're just going to do like a super G kind of chord.
[G]
I [C] think your index finger on the A string could be optional.
You could do kind of the [G] ACDC style.
And then we're going to play a standard C [C] major chord.
Then a standard D major [D] chord.
Then back to a C major [C] chord.
Just like that.
It [G] goes like this.
One and two [C] and one and two [D] and one and [C] two and one and two [G] and so forth and so on.
[C]
[D] And [C] [G]
[C] [D]
[C] [G] [C]
[D] [C]
[Em] [E] [C]
[D] [C] [Gm]
[N] I feel a little undone right now myself.
But anyway, that's a nice little tune for you to check out.
