Hey guys, welcome back.
Today I've got Who'll Stop The Rain.
I'm going to use the acoustic today, as you can see.
Normally live we'll just use electric guitars, just on a nice clean channel.
It just keeps the show moving.
It's a lot easier for us on stage.
But yeah, just for today we'll use the acoustic.
It's been sounding great, so here we go.
As
[Bm]
[G]
long as I [D] remember, [G] the rain been on and on
Wilds of mystery pouring, confusion on the ground
[D] Truly hate you,
[G] [D]
and I [D] wonder, still I wonder
[Bm] Who'll stop [G] the rain
I went down Virginia, seeking shelter from [D] the storm
Up [G] in [D] the fable, [G] forced down [Gm] the road
[G]
[D] Answer me, [G] you're on the case
[D] Still I [G] wonder, who'll stop the rain
[C] [D]
[Am] [Em]
[G]
Heard the singers playin', now we cheer for more
Drowning us [Bm] together, trying to keep warm
Still I'm aching for it, I'm here
And I wonder, [D] still I wonder
[Bm] Who'll stop the rain
[G]
[Bm]
[C] [D] [D]
[Am] [Bm]
[C]
[Am] [C] [Bm]
[G]
[N]
Right, so that's how we finish that one, just into the bridge again.
So just [C] C, [G] G, [D] D, [Am] A minor,
[C] C, A.
[Em]
Now you might notice with my chords [G] in that song, so the song's in G, in the key of G.
With my G chord, I don't normally play the traditional
[B] with
that [A] finger on the B note.
[G]
You can, if you want to, if that's how you play G.
I play with my middle finger just on the G, but I actually mute that A string.
[C] When I go down to C, I'll do the same thing.
I'll mute the string underneath.
[G] So basically, it just allows me to move my fingers up and down.
So, [A]
if I want to do that.
It's however you want to play it.
If you want to play C like that, [C] you can do.
[G]
[C] [G] I just [Gm] like keeping these two fingers down on the B and the A string.
[G] So what I'm doing there [G]
is
So the intro,
[D] [Em]
[D]
I'm doing a hammer [G]-on to hitting the G.
[D] [Bm]
[G]
[C] Pretty [G#m] simple.
And yeah, I'll just keep those shapes all the way through.
Instead of [Em] playing a traditional E minor, I'll [Bm] play it all the way through, basically.
[E] So [B] again, I'll play it.
So from the [G] start
[Bm]
[G] [Gm]
As long as I remember the rain in the calm [Gm] of the ground
Clouds and mists and fog and [G] tears on the ground
Could make through the [D] ages, [G]
child of sun
[G] And I wonder, [D] still I wonder,
[Bm] who stopped [Gm] me
And [F#m] after that little chorus, I'll have a little
[G]
So into the
And I wonder, [D] still I [Bm] wonder, who [G] stopped the rain
[F] So that's that.
In the bridge, just a C, G and a D, an A [C] minor, C and an E.
So,
[Gm] [D]
[Am] [Bm]
[C] [D]
[Am]
[G]
alright, that's it.
Who stopped the rain?
So yeah, tune in for next week.
I'll have another one.
Enjoy your weekend guys.
