Really good.
It's super nice so far.
We've been exploring.
_ We haven't really [Ebm] properly
been to [Gb] America before.
I mean_

I've been a little weak, but we've persevered through the jet lag.

We had a good time [Gm] last night even through the jet lag.
Woke up at like 6.
Here we are.

I had like the biggest breakfast I've ever had.
That's America for sure.
A lot of broccoli.

[G] This Whole Foods here in Austin is like gigantic and it's like three
stories down.

So for the band, your live set is just gonna be just the two of you guys, right?
And a drum machine.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We've updated the drum machine to a bit of [Gb] like an Ableton drum machine now.
So
there is a Mac on stage unfortunately, but_ Well, unfortunately.
[Ab] It's sexy anyway.
It's fine.
[Gb] It's a high tech look.
High tech head sheets.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You're half DJ now. Tech.
[Ab] Getting on the EDM scene a little bit.
Yeah, exactly.
Branching out.
Have you guys thought about adding like live drummers?
Just_
I don't know.
Because I think
a large part of your [F] sound is like that drum machine.
[Gb] I personally like it a lot, but I think_
So do we.
Yeah, I don't know if you guys are_
So do we.
We've been approached by a few drummers, yeah.
They're all really nice guys.
[G] Me.
_ [Gb] But_
And we love you.
But for now, [N] it's just the two of us.
I kind of love that.
Do you guys song write together as well?
We definitely_
We definitely jam it out, yeah.
[Gbm] It's good.
[Gb] I love that.
It's just going to [G] be complicated at the moment [Bb] if we get another person.
We're enjoying this duo right now.
Yeah, [Ab] bite-sized whole band, you know.
[Abm] We could play on this table right now if we wanted to.
[Eb] That's what we're saying.
Yeah, so that definitely has its benefits.
How do you guys_
So have you guys been to the States as [G] H.E.R.S. before?
No.
I've never been to America before, so_ Wow, welcome!
[N] Yeah, yeah.

That's so great.
So that's going to certainly feel different, I guess, promoting yourself already as an established band in an entirely new scene.
As opposed to having [E] your mates around or having_
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It does help having your mates around, though, doesn't it?
It's going to be good.
It's going to be a [D] trial by fire, realizing [E] that [Em] it works with the audience.
I imagine that's going to be very different.
Yeah, because America's just [E] huge.
A lot of it is online presence.
We're used to [Gb] seeing the friendly faces at the front and [N] that, which is nice.
But I mean, it's good.
It's nice to be nervous again for a bit.
Because we've just been playing a lot of small shows here and there.
Yeah, no, it's going to be good.
This is [Gb] definitely a new experience for the H.E.R.S.
Yeah, I think y'all are doing well.
I actually found out about you independently.
Lana had told me about you guys, but I found out about you from a Discover Weekly Spotify playlist,
which apparently seems to be the new way that bands are being discovered.
So a friend of mine was like, yo, I heard this song before doing this.
We love Spotify.
Spotify is the best.

Yeah, I know.

I can see YouTube.
Nobody discovered us on YouTube.
No, we got signed because of YouTube.

[Bm] Speaking of YouTube, [E] actually, I want to talk about y'all's latest music video for Speed Racer.
[Eb] It's _ really weird, but not too weird that it will scare [E] normal people.
And it's still good enough to be viable in a pop commercial scene,
but also weird enough to make you actually want to watch it.
Yeah, it sounds like you just described the music in a way.
This is true.
That's what we're going for.
Did you guys have any distinct inspirations behind that music video?
Yeah, definitely.
I mean, everything we do, we try [Em] and live Twin Peaks as much as [Am] possible.
Twin Peaks.
[E] Twin Peaks was in England with Chavs in a diner.
[Gb] Train spotting.
Nice.
Yeah, because I was like, those were some decisions.
I [Bb] really like those.
It was a bit of a risk, actually.
We had no idea what our hairlines were going to [C] look like.
[G] And then it's like, now we have to film an entire [C] video.
Luckily, it's fine.
[Eb] But yeah, it was a big day.
We filmed [G] from 12 till 12, that video.
Oh my god.
[N] It was a big day.
Super good, though.
I love that.
If you had one distinct piece of merch for the H.E.R.s band, what would it be?
[Gb] So we've got, obviously, we've got this collection of songs coming up.
That's for our managers right there.
May 12th, right?
Dennis' birthday.
No, okay.
[Fm] Yeah, May 12th.
And [N] on the cover, there's this pair of knickers.
And we're trying to get these pairs of knickers made.
They've got a little H.E.R.s. logo on them. Pink stripes. Knickers, bikini bottoms, [G] speedos. Shades, [E] boxes. Boxes. _ Banana hammock. Is it all lower body for you? Yes. [Eb] Waist down. _ _ _ _ Amazing. You guys are playing so many shows. Are there any in particular that you guys want to pub, that you want people to hear about? _ There's one that we forgot to put on our visiting card, which is the D.I.Y. show on Saturday at Maggie Mae's at 8 o'clock.
