So I've had a poem like based around those kind of those [A] that idea and those words for a while
I think originally when I wrote
The poem [F#] I was [D#] kind of hinting [F] around at the idea of like [C#] where it is, you know
Where do you start to see?
Where does it cease to be impossible when you [D#m] like think about the
What what a country or a place can become?
[A#] Or how when do you when do you [A] when does it stop being something?
Unbelievable [D#m] and something that you act upon to like try and [E] change
When [D#] you realize that within [C#] yourself, there's something that you really need to [D#] fix, you know
Basically, when do you wake up from denial?
[F#] Which you know, [Bm] it's like
[G#m] As as the [G] lyrics kind of evolved into the song a little bit [B] more the way it fits into the [Em] record it became [D#] more [A] You [B] know
The idea of like kind of [C#] getting out of denial was kind of waking [D#] up where you are [A] in your life, you know
[C#] And I think a [C#m] lot of [D#m] times
Well [C#] in a [E] very [D#] personal way, you know
it's nice to wake up in my life and realize that I [D#m] had so many really great [A] people around me and
[E] My wife in particular, you know, there's a lot of songs and my [F] wife's been [F#] through a lot
So there's I [F#m] can't really say and enough things about [C#] you know on a really super personal level
[E] Something that meant a lot to me
[D#m] writing the lyrics is that [G#m] that I [Em] really wanted to to have [D#] a good record to listen to that didn't have a lot of [E] the
more troubling aspects really [F#] kind of
Underlined, [A] you know, this is like the first record
[D#m] [C#]
I
Really [D#m] consciously kind of thought I want to sing straight
[F#] not [G] try and dress them up any fancy way just
