Hi, I [G] learned this actually just the other day.
A guy up here named Chip Arnold and I were messing around with this tuning and I think
Chip suggested that we try to play Wildwood Flower out of this tuning and I thought it
was a great idea and I've been working on it and it's a really simple, wonderful thing
in this particular tuning.
So [E] we have [A] E, A, [E] D, E and [G] then G up here on the top and here's going to be the G chord.
We just take [E] these two fingers and move them over a set [C] of strings.
I've got the C chord, [G] move them back, we have a G chord.
Now lift your index finger up and slide [D] back one fret and you've got the V chord or the D chord.
[G] So it's really nice and compact fingering and I guess the tune is in my head from listening
to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band [Bm] album with Mother Maybel Carter playing this Wildwood Flower
on the auto harp.
So here it is.
[E] [G]
[D]
[G] [C]
[G] [D]
[G] [D]
[G] [E] [Bm]
[D] [G]
[C] [G]
[E] [G] Wildwood Flower.
