Yo, what's up folks, it's your boy George Colton Brown with Coal Essence Productions.
This is a short tutorial on praise and worship music, how to play like shout music.
[G] I'm going to be doing it in the key of G.
[B] [Am]
[G] [D]
[G] [Gm] [Cm]
[G] The first thing you're going to need to know
is your blues scale.
The G blues scale is G, [Eb] B flat, [Fm] C, [Dbm] C sharp, [Bm] D, [Bb] F.
You can [Ab] sometimes throw the F sharp
in there to the G.
[Bb] So go like [Dm] this, [G] then just run it back [F] down.
[D] [Eb]
Another cool thing you can do is do like a little trill.
[Db] I'm going C sharp [C] to C to B [Gm] flat to G.
[Cm]
Then you throw the G at the end.
Then you throw an F at [Fm] the end.
Then you throw a D at the [Gm] end.
[Db] To the C [Eb] sharp, to the C, back to the G.
[D]
[Eb] The run that you're going to do is, G, it's [G] going to go like [Bb] this.
[E]
[G] [Bb] [B] [E] [G] [B] [C] [G]
[B] [D] [G] So it's G, [A] A, [Bb] B flat, [B] B, [C] C, [E] E, [F] F, [Gb] F sharp, to the [G] G.
[Bb] [B] [E] [Gb] [G] That's the left hand.
Then to bring it down a little, you're going to go like this.
This one's going to go like this.
[D] [Fm] [G] [E] [G]
That is a G, to a [B] B, to a [C] C, to a C [Db] sharp, to [D] a D, to an [E] E, [F] to an F, to an [Gb] F sharp, [G] to a G.
[C] [D] [E] [G] [Db] The whole time you can play the blues scale.
[Eb] [E] [G]
[C] [Gm] [C]
[G] [C] [G]
[Cm] That chord I'm playing in my right hand is a G, a [Eb] B flat, and a C sharp.
[Gm] Or you can play a D.
[C] Since those notes are in the blues scale, you can definitely play
those two together [Eb] and switch it up [G] while you're doing that.
[E] [Gm] [G] [Gm]
[C] [Gm] [C] [Gm]
What I'm doing when I'm going from here, [C] I'm doing a G minor to a C.
[Gm] [C] [Gm] [C]
So G [B] minor, G, [Gm] B flat, D, to a G, [C] C, E.
When you go to the C chord is when you hit the C note from the run that I'm doing with
[Gm] my left hand.
So it's [A]
[B] [E] back [Gb] [Gm] to the G.
[Bb] [B]
[C] [F] [Gm] [C] [Bb]
[C] [G]
That one I'm doing right here is a G, F sharp, I'm sorry, G, F, D, to [C]
[Em] a C chord, C, E, [C] G.
[Gm] [C]
[G] So you go.
[C] [G]
[C] [G] Same pattern [N] goes with it when you go from a C, when you hit the C in the left [G] hand,
[C] you switch to a C chord in your right hand.
[E] To the [Fm] E, [Gb] back to [Dm] G.
[B] [C] [G]
[C] [Bb] [C] [G] [Bbm]
[Fm] [G] [F] [C] [Fm] [Cm] [Bb]
[C] [Bb] [G] [N] The whole time I'm just playing the blues scale.
[Gm] [Dm] [Gm]
You [C] can play any notes in those blues scales while [F] you're doing that run.
[C] [Fm] [Gm] [C] [Fm] [G] [Bb]
[C] [Gm] [C] [Gm] [Bb]
[Gm] [D]
A new chord you can do [Bb] while you're doing that is an F, B flat, and a D, which is known
as your B flat major scale, major chord.
[G] So once you hit the C in your [A] run, [B]
[D] you go to the B flat chord in your [Bb] right hand.
[G] [C]
[G] [C] [Gm] [C]
[Gm]
[C] [G] [C] [G]
Alright folks, hope that helped.
[N] If you have any questions whatsoever, just let me know and
