Alright guys, this is Amos on Stole Music and in today's lesson I'm going to teach you
how to play the song called I Spoke to the Devil in Miami, He Said Everything Would Be Fine.
Okay, so here we go, give you a preview of what you're going to learn.
You're pretty much going to learn the entire instrumental section that plays throughout
the entire song as a loop.
Okay, so I'll give you a preview, it goes like this.
Pretty calm.
[Bm]
[D]
[Bm]
[Bm] [D] [E]
[D]
[Bm] And you're going to repeat it one octave higher.
[D]
[G] [Bm]
[D]
[G] Okay.
Okay, let's go ahead and learn it.
We're going to break it up into two parts to learn it.
It's not as difficult as you think it is.
It's pretty simple once you learn the patterns.
[G#] Okay, so here we go.
So right hand starts on the F sharp, so it doesn't matter what F sharp it is.
For the sake of this lesson we can see the keys, middle C is here, to start on the [F#] F sharp here.
So F sharp up to [Am] A, down to [C#] C sharp, and it goes [C#] up to [F#] G, F sharp [A] to A, down an octave
to a lower A.
And that's the right hand for the first part.
Okay, so one more time, it goes like this.
[F#] It goes F sharp, [A] A, down to C sharp,
[C#] G, F sharp, [A] A, down to the lower A.
And that's it for the first part for the right hand.
Once you get that, left hand, we have [C#] four chords here.
Four chords are very important because these four chords are the same four chords as the
second part as well.
So the four chords [Bm] are B minor, which is B, D, F sharp.
Second chord is D [D] major, which is D, F sharp, A.
Third chord down to the second inversion of D major, which is A, D, F sharp.
[A] And then the fourth chord is G major 7, [G] which is a quarter chord, G, B, D, [Bm] F sharp.
Okay, with those four chords in mind, so B minor, [D] D major, second inversion of D major,
and [G] G major 7.
Remember these four chords?
[D]
[G] What to do, the two hands [C] together goes like this.
F sharp and B minor [Bm] together.
C sharp and D major together.
[D]
F [G] sharp and second inversion together.
A and G major [Bm] 7 together.
And that's the first part, okay?
Yeah, one more time.
So it goes like this, okay?
We're doing the block chords [G#m] first, at the end I'll tell you the [Bm] accompaniment pattern,
okay?
So together, [D] together, together, together.
And that's it.
Moving on to the second and last part of this [C#] particular motif.
Right hand goes back to [F#] G, F sharp, [Am] A, down to E this time, [C#m]
and down to [Dm] C sharp D, C [E] sharp
B.
And that's it for the right hand for the second part, okay?
One more time for the second part.
[C] So it goes like this, it goes [F#m] G, F sharp, [A]
A, [E] down to E, and [C#m] down to C sharp [D] D, [C#] C sharp
B.
[B]
And that's the right hand for this second part, okay?
So once you get that, left hand's exact same four [B] chords as the first part as I said.
So the four chords [Bm] are B minor, B, D, F sharp, [D] second chord D major, D, F sharp, A, third
chord once again, second inversion of D major, A, D, F sharp, and the fourth [A] chord once again,
G major 7, the four [G] note chord, G, B, D, F sharp.
[Bm] You should know these four [D] chords already since I said [G] they are the same four chords
as the first [Bm] part.
If you forgot about it, just revise through it in the first part.
The two hands together for this second part goes like this, right hand starts, F sharp
and B minor together, [D] E and D major together, [A] and it goes down to D and the chord together,
B and G [G] major 7 together, and that's it.
One more time, it goes like [Bm] this.
Together, [E]
together, [A] [D] together,
[Bm] together.
And that's it.
Okay.
So back to back, the two parts goes like this.
[Bm] [D]
[E] [N]
