So after the request, I'm going to be doing a tutorial on the
pattern for the cup song, also known as You're Gonna Miss Me by Lulu and the
Lampshades, which was also [G] covered by Anna Kendrick in the movie Pitch Perfect.
[B] _ So you're gonna need a cup, [Eb] and you're gonna need your hands.
That's it!
[B] So you're gonna [Db] place the cup
[B]
onto the table with this [G] part of the cup facing the top of the table.
[B] So the top
of the cup to the top of the table. _
And so yeah, we're gonna start [G] off with two
claps.
So [B] after _ _ _ [Db] the two claps, [Bm] you're going to tap the top of the cup [B] three
times.
[Db] So clap, clap, [Bm] tap, tap, tap.
_ _ _ And then after that, you're gonna clap again, [Eb] and you're gonna pick up the [B] cup and then put it back down.
[Abm] So it's gonna be clap, clap, [B] tap, tap, tap, clap, tap, down.
One more time.
Clap, clap, tap, tap, tap, clap, up, down.
_ Clap, clap, tap, tap, tap, clap, up, down.
_ _ So that part's pretty [D] easy.
Now, [B] this is the tricky part.
[G] You're gonna [B] clap, and then you're gonna turn your hand over so you can flip the cup.
So, flip. _ _ _
Flip.
One more time.
_ Flip.
Alright, so from the top, let's go.
One, two.
Clap, clap, tap, tap, tap, down.
Clap, flip.
_ _ One more time from the top.
Clap, clap, tap, tap, tap, clap, up, down.
Clap, flip.
[Eb] _ After you flip the cup, you're gonna hit it with your other hand.
It's gonna make sort of [G] like a hollow [B] noise, _ if you can hear it.
So that's the kind of noise that you're going for.
So, one more time from the very beginning.
Clap, clap, tap, tap, tap, clap, up, down.
Clap, flip, hit.
So that's gonna be clap, flip, hit.
_ Clap, flip, hit.
Keep in mind that every single move you make with the cup is gonna be a beat.
So, _ _ yeah, [G] just be very conscious of that.
So we're gonna start [B] from the very beginning one more time.
_ Clap, clap, tap, tap, tap, clap, up, down.
Clap, flip, tap.
_ _ After the tap, you're gonna hit the bottom of the cup to the top of the table.
You're just gonna kind of tap it.
So let's start from the flip.
Clap, flip, hit, tap.

Let's do it a few more times. _ _ _

One more time.

So now, after you're gonna hit the tap on the table, you're going to switch the cup over to one hand.
To the other hand that's not holding it.
And you're going to hit [Bm] the top of the table with this [B] hand.
And you're just gonna put the cup down.
That's it.
So we're gonna start from the flip.
Or from the clap to the flip.
