So the [D] humming in the beginning [G] of the song, [Fm] it's pretty much the melody of like [C] an old
[G] traditional Malay
Poetry for the longest time.
I wanted to add the shy air element into my music
I just didn't know how [C] so I asked my producer like do you think you can work with this?
melody that I'm humming and
Robin my producer.
He was like, oh my god, it's so beautiful.
Yeah, let's do something with this
Just can you imagine like if you listen to forevermore that whole song?
Came from that one
melody
So when I wrote forevermore, the first thing that came to mind was [Em] obviously Malaysia my home
I grew up in Malaysia the city Kuala Lumpur and [A] also
Perlis which is like kind of like [Em] the border [B] of Malaysia and Thailand
[A] I felt like oh my god, [G] like we have to shoot [Em] the music video for forevermore in
Kuala Lumpur and also [C] Perlis
Yeah, I think for me forevermore was a chance to really show the more [Em] realistic real raw side of Malaysia
Which [G] you don't get to see in any tourism video.
You don't get to see any commercial
Just we wanted to show things as how [C] we saw it and how we're used to [Em] just
Experiencing Malaysia and we're going to share [G] a bit of that with everyone who gets to see this video
[C] You know, we wanted to show like an old Chinese
grocery store that's [G] kind of like [Em] really far from the town as well [G] and
also the people who [C] run this place through so
[G] real, you know when we talk about Malaysia is a
It's a country [D] of a lot of different [C] cultures different races.
[C] So there's a lot of different types of expression and
There's a lot of different [Em] colors for forevermore in a depiction of Malaysia
Colors would always be something that we wanted to push through
[A] Also creating some of those colors artificially to stylize the different [G] kind of elements of our culture that we were presenting
Not only in our lighting it was in the wardrobe as [C] well
I think every time we want to make sure that's standard that we want to make sure that the artists pop but
the colors and I think the stylings of those
Wardrobe was something that makes a lot of different elements together of like [F#] local and also like foreign design [C#] as well
So
[G#]
dancing is a very new thing [G#] for me.
I started dancing.
I think about [C#] three years ago
I took my first hip-hop [D] class with karma who also happens to be [F] the choreographer
for this music video
[G#]
[A#] I don't think in any of you nice video of the [F#] past that she has done
I [D] think that is a very strong [C] visual very strong action [G#] for her to take in this [F#] video like, you know to go out there and
Really show what she can do because it [Cm] was amazing to see how naturally all of these girls like [C#] work together
And how they were able to connect with each other, you know
I especially have to be picked like four [Fm] different girls from a bit of a different background
but [C#] we got four diverse [F#] characters to mix with you know, as
[A#] interesting personality and character of herself I
[G#] Wanted to express [C#] myself like in in a different way like not just like musically but also in movements
you know like I wanted to move with my my own [C#] song and
I was really happy that we got to do that [G#] and that was like kind of like [A#] the message that I wanted to include
In the music video pretty much like girl power movement thing as well
[D] So the our exits [C#] are that is a type of motorcycle
[C] That's really famous in Malaysia and among youngsters
Bikers or [G#] my little kids they work really hard to just get a motorbike and just ride it
So we thought it's [A] time that a you know, let's feature [A#] some motorbike because at the end of the day they're living their dream
[G#] We found these [N] two amazing
Dancers I just fell in love, you know, like watching
[C#] Hashimi and Divya the two dancers
Performing like in some of their [C#] videos and I just fell in love with them and I just like okay
Well, we have to get them in the [F#] video.
It's [C#] been a big project for us.
It's meant a lot
You know, [Fm] we work with such great people from [C#] the choreographers to the dancers [F#] to the crew the cameraman
Everyone put in a lot of themselves into the shoe [A#] everyone.
They were amazing [C#] Yeah
We knew that we wanted to push for something a bit more and the effort everyone [N] gave was just amazing and
Yeah, we can't wait for everyone else to see this video.
We're [C#] very excited
