ZZ [Dm] Top bassist Dusty Hill's widow, Charlene [E] McCrory, has [Am] offered her first public [A] comment
since Hill's death last week.
In a statement released via social media, McCrory said,
After 19 wonderful years of marriage that ended too soon, I've decided to step out into
Dusty's spotlight to thank all of his fans, colleagues, and friends for the overwhelming
outpouring of love for the Dust.
It makes me hopeful that he will not be forgotten.
He [F] wasn't supposed to [A] leave me or all of you.
The plan was for another round of physical
therapy with [F] a different [E] approach to help with his [A] chronic bursitis.
The plan was he
would return to the second leg of the tour in September.
[G] Early Wednesday morning, [D] my
world and [Am] yours would lose [Dm] a great musician [Am] and I would lose [D] my greatest love.
[F] He woke
me up [D] and we talked [F] and as he was [G] sweetly chatting with [A] me, he suddenly stopped and
he was gone in an instant.
It is my hope you will always keep him in your hearts.
He loved
his fans and always remembered that without fans, music is not heard.
So know he truly
appreciated [C] each and every [A] one of you.
