G'day guys, here's a tutorial for The Beatles and I love her.
I covered this one again fairly recently and I've had a lot of requests for tutorials
So it's not exactly an easy one
There's a key change in this one, which means we have to do a fair few bar chords, unfortunately
So not the easiest song to play but let's get on with it.
Capo second fret that nice [C] little intro goes [B] like this
[F#m]
[C#m]
Goes between the E minor and a B minor, [G#] but the little plucking bit is [B] playing the fifth open
[E] the fourth open
[F#] fretting the fifth [D#] string on the fourth fret and [N] sliding down to make an [F#m] E minor
So I find it easier [B] just to go [E] open open [F#] use my fourth, sorry my third middle finger [D#m] to fret that
[D#] fifth string on the fourth fret
[G] Slide it down to the second [C] fourth finger [A#m] then comes on [F#m] to the E minor, you come into your strum which is
More or less [B] [F#m] again
[B] [F#m]
This time strum [F] straight into a B [C#m] minor
[E] [D#]
[F#m] Back to your E minor, and your verse starts with the same chords
[C#m]
[F#m] [C#m]
Which is between [F#m] E minor and B minor
[C#m]
Now to [F#m] a G
[A] [F#m] [B] And A7
[F#m] [E]
Finishing on a D in the verse, [F#m] okay
[C#m] [F#m]
[C#m]
[F#m] And if [C#m] you saw my love, [A] you'd love [B] her too
[F#m] [E] Little [D#] [F#m]
pluck run again into the next verse and the same
She gives me [C#m] everything
[F#m] And [C#m] tenderly
[F#m]
Down down down down [C#m] up down down up [A] down
[B]
[E] G A7
Okay
[C#m] now we want a B minor
[F#m] [B] Then down to an A, [C#m] back to the B minor, [G#m] then to an F sharp minor, [B] okay, [C#m] so
[F#m] [B]
[C#m] Back [G#m]
to the B [C#m] minor
[G#m]
Back to F sharp minor
[F#m] Then [B]
finishing on an A
Or it could be [Bm] an A7, A or A7, I'm not entirely [F#] sure either sounds fine [C#m] so [G#m] [F#] [C#m] Sorry
I [F#m] love [B] like a girl's A
[C#m] B minor [G#m] F sharp minor
[C#m] B minor [G#m] F sharp minor
[F#m] [B] The verse chords again
[F#m]
Right [C#m] after the start of the [F#m] chain
B minor [C#m] B minor
[F#m] B minor [C#m] B minor
[A] G [B] A7
[E]
G
Now we come to the key change
Now [G] the chords are basically exactly the same, but it would be as if the capo was put up onto the third fret
Okay, so you're coming up half a step
[F#m] so the E minor now [Gm] becomes
F [E] minor [C#m] and [Dm] the B minor
Now becomes C minor [F#m] Okay
[Gm] [Dm]
[Gm] [Dm]
[F#m] [Gm] [Dm] F minor C [B] minor
[A#] Okay, now we've got an A flat [D#m] as opposed to [A#] G it's now the A flat
Then [C] you've got to come up for a B flat you could play it down here if you wanted [F#m] to [C] but because then you've [F] got to come for
an E flat Okay
[C] Again, you could play [F] E flat
Just the top three strings but it [C#] sounds really [D#] bad so I would [F] stick with the E flat
All [C] [F] right, [E] then one [F#m] more [Gm] verse
Bright are [Dm] the stars that [Gm] shine
Dark is [D] the [Dm] sky
[Gm] I [Dm] know this love of mine [A#] will [C] never die
[F] And I love her
When [G#m] [Fm] you're not too little
[Em]
[Gm] So [F#m] before when you just played [B] it over
[E] Now [C] you've got a fret across the first fret [G#] basically make sure you're fretting over the top of the fifth and the [C] fourth strings
[F] [E] Then just release and pluck the fourth
[G] back into the F into the F [Gm] minor
Then just release those two fingers off the F minor
So [G#] you're basically just fretting again just to write it right across that first [F] fret
[E] And then back to [Dm] your C minor
Quickly
[F#] [C] come back and fret across the first fret again
[E]
Release and play the fourth open
[Gm] F minor release again just [C] play the [F] fourth [Em] open and then [D] finish
on a nice C chord
Okay, so it does get [A] a bit tricky at the end there
[G#] Because you have to rush to get back to that fretting across [C] the first fret
[E] [Gm] But
[Cm] [E] [Dm]
[C] [E] [Gm]
[C] [E] [D]
it is a beautiful song from night days night.
[Am] So there we go,
