Hello here is a tutorial for a way of playing
You've got to hide your love away by the Beatles from the help soundtrack
This one's not this one's nice to play acoustically.
It's only two parts.
It's just a verse and a chorus
And any sort of four four chords.
I think something like that.
[G] It's all based around G
[D]
D [F#] and F or F major 7 if you want to cheat like what I do and
As [G] a C in there as well, and that's basically it
I'll even tell you about strum on this one.
It's the same all the way through.
It's just down down up down down down up down
So you guys [D] see [G] see sorry [D] G D?
[E] [F] F if you want to do a full bar [A] chord F go right ahead because the next chord after it is a G
So I tend to cheat and play if major 7 instead of a full F, and I will
try and
The bass if there
[G] Then back to a G
So you do it how you like you might want to play the F slide up for the bar chord G after the F
Whatever you like to do whatever you find it easier, so
Start again there [D] G [C] D [G] F G
Right then to a [C] C
[Am] F
F major 7 [C] back to C
All right, [G] and then repeat that again [D] G D [G] F
G [C] C
F major 7 C [D] and then to a D
Right and then all that gets repeated
[G]
[F] [C]
[G] If she's [F] gone I [G] can't go [C] on
[Am] The [D]
D there sometimes I just like to hammer on and off that third string just to make it a bit more interesting
[G]
All right that all gets repeated again as I [G#] said and then when you come around for [D] that last D
You get to the D the second time around you can do a little run down on the a string the [C] fifth string
[D] [D] [G] [D]
now the way you do that is just play a D and
Make sure you pluck at the fourth string the bass note
Down up down pinky comes up onto the fifth string on the third [C] fret
[D] pluck down up down
Take your second finger off the third string put it up on the [Bm] fifth string pluck the fifth
[G] Down up down then [D] open fifth
You can just play D there again if you want, but I think John actually does a D7 there
Either way, I [Dm] think it sounds okay either way, but I [D] like to do a D7 there so goes
[Bm] [D]
You have kind of got time to get [F#] make the D7 because you're [D] playing the open A there
And you basically got time to lift your hand up and change to your D7 for me
But if you don't like that just play an ordinary D
[F#m] Right so that makes up the verse
Now you just need your chorus.
Hey, you've got to hide your love away
and basically it goes just from a
[C] G to a [A] C and then a D sus
But you can do a little
Little [G] hammer-ons on the G.
So when you play G
What I do then is go
As I'm going into my C.
[Bm] So that's just well you still got your G formation [G] play your E
And release your second finger off the a string [A] and play it open
You just pluck it open [E] and finger comes back again onto the G and [Bm] play
Play it on the second fret before you go straight [C] into your C
[G] All right, so you get
to your [C] C
After you see you got to hit [F#] a D sus so that's like that's like a D
But just [Bm] putting your pinky onto the third fret on your E [D] string
Just gonna run it down to a D
And release the E string all together to make a D sus 2
All right, then back on to make your D again
so
All right.
So the tricky [C] part is when you leave your C [G] you go straight to the [D] D sus
[G] Hey
[C] You've got to hide [D] your love away
[G] Hey
You've got [C] to hide [D] your love away
Bit of a tune, aren't I?
You might [G] have noticed there with the C.
Sometimes I just do a little release on the fourth
hammer-on
[C]
[G] Doesn't do that on the recorded version.
[F#] But again, just just something [G] to make a bit more interesting
[C] [D]
[G] Hey
You've [C] got to hide [D] your love away
[G]
Probably out of tune
Yeah, then just go back in your verse again.
So that's all you need.
Yeah, you can make the rest of the song out of just those components
Yeah
[Bm]
So that's all I'm gonna show you again
