Okay here is a tutorial now for Fleetwood Mac, Go Your Own Way.
This one is
in terms of the chords very simple chord structure very simple and the structure
of the song very simple it's just standard verse chorus verse chorus solo
chorus verse.
We only need to learn two [F] chunks for this song.
Now I've got a
capo on the third fret this puts it in tune to the album version the way with
the chords I'm going to use which starts on a D.
[C] I did cover this one ages
ago without a capo at all because the chorus is very hot like it's very high I
can't I can't hit those notes so I took the capo off altogether.
My cover was
shocking but anyway we'll need to put the capo on the third fret for this one
just so it's in tune with the album [F] version.
Right now the chords that you
want for the verse are D,
[C] A [Bb] and G
[Gm] but [F] the verse it uses palm muting so you're
going to use the inside of your palm for all of these chords which are all just
little down strokes.
So I'm on a D [Fm] fretting the D but I'm not actually ever
going to play the first string on any of these chords I'm [Eb] worrying about
[F] basically just these middle strings the fifth fourth third and second just down
strokes with an accentuation on some of the strums.
I don't think it matters
particularly too much which just sort of like this.
Now [C]
to an A.
Now you'll notice I'm barring the A.
I'm barring across the top four
strings but I'm not playing the first strings that doesn't matter.
Slightly more [F] accentuation on the A than the D.
[C] Then the same now on the G.
Again [E] I'm fretting the whole G just out of habit
but [Bb] I'm really just worrying about the sixth fifth fourth and third strings
perhaps the second string.
Then [F]
the downs on the D.
If I could maybe I'd give you my [C]
world.
[Bb] How can I when you won't take it from [F] me.
[C] Okay so that's the verse progression using that palm muting.
Now the chorus
[Dm] the chords are B minor [Bb] G [C] and A and you're [D] just going to play those chords
no muting here and pretty much just [E] down up down up down [Dm] up strum.
[Bb]
[C] [Dm]
[Bb]
[C] [Dm]
[Bb] [C]
[Dm]
[Bb] [C]
[Dm]
[Bb] [C]
[F]
Come back into verse two muted down strokes.
[C] [F]
[C] [Bb]
[F]
[C] [Bb]
[F] [N] Sorry just wanted to just felt like playing it.
Good song.
Now the only other
part is there is a solo which uses just the same chords from the verse but
rather than there's no palm muting [F] in the solo so you would just be playing
the D [C]
to the [Bb] A.
[F]
I think
[Dm] there's also a solo using the chorus
[Bb] [C]
chords.
There's nothing new else in there.
The chorus is all
used the [E] same progressions as we've done in the verse and the [Gb] chorus.
They're the
only two parts you need [F] to know is that [C] D to the A [Bb] to the [F] G back to the [G] D with
the palm [Dm] muting and then the chorus B minor [Bb] G [C] A and that makes up the whole
song.
Go your own way.
Okay enjoy
